Sounds of the KEYS Monthly Newsletter of St. Peter School September 2011 From the Principal Embracing the KEYS to success: Faith, Knowledge, and Unity Dear friends, As we enjoy the beautiful, cooler days-‐ which are also becoming shorter-‐ St. Peter School continues its important mission with excitement, joy, and fun! Likewise, our SPS family continues to grow in unity in and love. SPS Gra ndpare nts Da y We have already reached the mid-‐point of the first 9 weeks. Perhaps many of our parents have noticed, as the teachers have, the difference with our new religion curriculum. This is the most important aspect of our school. While we strive for academic excellence and the overall formation of each student, it is the religious component that sets our school apart. In addition to the Faith and Life series, our sixth and eighth graders are really enjoying the Theology of the Body for Teens: Middle School Edition. On Wednesday, September 14, SPS was happy to honor the grandparents of its students. After Holy Mass, maw maws and paw paws were invited to view the cookbooks that each class compiled of their favorite food that their grandparents cook…and to taste some treats made from those recipes! Our small classes continue to provide for a more personal and hands-‐on instruction by our teachers. Please continue to encourage your children to do their best with their studies…and we will continue to give our best for them! Be assured of our prayers for you as our students gather for the morning assembly, and most especially at the weekly Wednesday celebration of Holy Mass. Thank you for your prayerful and generous support of SPS! In Christ the Lord, Fr. SPS + Mystic Monk Coffee = Catholic Education & coffee by Catholic Monks Help SPS with an easy addition to our rewards program…a mutual partnership with a thriving community of Carmelite Monks in Wyoming who make delicious coffee! How it works: our school will receive a generous commission on everything purchased in Mystic Monk Coffee store by going to it from the link on our site. In return, all proceeds they collect will support the building of a Gothic monastery and church for their monastic life. Mystic Monk Coffee is roasted by the Carmelite Monks, a Roman Catholic monastery in the silence and solitude of the Rocky Mountains of northern Wyoming. The monks live a hidden life of prayer and contemplation in the pursuit of God. The Carmelite monks have mastered the ancient art of coffee roasting, laboring with steadfast determination and using only the finest gourmet coffee beans to make each cup of coffee simply superb. Taste the monastic perfection in each brew, which makes all the difference. They also have delicious tea and lots of Mystic Monk accessories. Try some today!!! He greeted the students of each class with a quack, shook hands and received hugs, and then posed for a photo before departing. What a great surprise it was for the children in the Duck Capital!
