Notes (Based on the 2014-15 University Catalog) Math Placement Students are placed in math courses based on their highest SAT or ACT math score, with two exceptions. Students with AP or transfer math credit are placed based on the level of credit received. Transfer, adult, or international students without an SAT/ACT score or transfer credit must complete a math placement test given by the Department of Mathematics. Writing Intensive Courses: As part of the General Education Program at UNC Charlotte, all undergraduate students are required to complete six hours of Writing Intensive courses.
