Church Life Updates Guest Preacher: We are grateful to have Dr. Roger Gilbert with us this morning as our guest preacher. Dr. Gilbert is the former pastor of First Baptist Church here in Mount Airy, and he continues to serve area churches through his ministry as an interim pastor. Please give him a warm Calvary welcome. 2015 Contributions: Any contributions to be included in the 2015 Contribution Statement need to be in the church office or postmarked by December 31, 2015. Contributions received after December 31 that are not postmarked before or on December 31 will be credited to 2016 contributions. Christmas Missions Offering: Our Christmas Missions Offering is a key way that we support efforts to share the gospel around the world. Our goal for 2015 is $3,500 and our total collected so far is $5,204. You can designate your gift to: Andy and Cari Robertson (Calvary’s missionaries to Chad), the Global Missions Offering of the CBF, or the Lottie Moon Offering of the SBC. Any undesignated gifts will be split equally among these causes. Free Movie Screening: Next Sunday (January 3) at 6 PM, Calvary will host a free screening of the recent movie, “War Room,” which presents a moving message about the power of prayer. We hope that you’ll join us – and that you’ll invite your friends – and then we encourage you to participate in the 5-week Bible study on prayer that will be part of the Winter session of our Mid-Week Ministry. And Speaking of Mid-Week Ministry: Our Mid-Week Ministry program – which offers growth opportunities for all ages – will resume on Wednesday, January 6th. The schedule includes a snack supper at 6 PM, followed by Bible study at 6:30. (Please note: During our Winter and Spring sessions, the snack supper is not a community meal, but is provided as a ministry to individuals and families who are participating in the evening’s growth opportunities.) Love Offering for Joy Hagar: We are currently collecting a love offering for Joy Hager – the wife of Calvary’s former pastor – who has battling cancer. All gifts received will help the Hager family deal with costs related to Joy’s care. If you wish to participate, please write “Joy Hager” on your check or envelope and place it in the offering plate or church office no later than Sunday, January 3rd.
