Educational Benchmarking, Inc.
Educational Benchmarking (EBI) in partnership
with the AACN offers surveys for nursing
educators to assess student outcomes and
enhance continuous improvement initiatives.
These AACN/EBI assessment tools are based on
AACN’s The Essentials of Baccalaureate
Education for Professional Nursing Practice;
The Essentials of Master’s Education for
Advanced Nursing Practice and The National
Task Force on Quality Nurse Practitioner
Education’s report. The Commission on
Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), AACN’s
accrediting arm, recognizes these three
publications as the nationally accepted
professional standards for baccalaureate and
master’s nursing programs. The AACN/EBI
benchmarking assessments provide information
necessary to motivate, guide and enhance the
effectiveness of nursing programs. In addition,
they offer comparative analyses with nursing
programs nationwide. Furthermore, the studies
provide, after the first year of participation, a
longitudinal comprehensive look at your
student’s perceptions over time.

NursingCAS
In March 2010, AACN partnered with Liaison
International to launch the Nursing Centralized
Application Service (NursingCAS). Similar to
services available in the other health
professions, NursingCAS offers prospective
students a convenient way to apply to any level
of nursing program - from the diploma to the
doctorate - offered at schools nationwide.
Through NursingCAS, students only need to
complete one electronic application and
prepare one set of corresponding materials (i.e.
references, transcripts, CV/resume, essays) that
will be disseminated online to one or multiple
schools of nursing for consideration.
NursingCAS verifies the application components
for accuracy, provides grade point average
calculations, and sends the materials to the
nursing programs that the applicant designates.
There is no charge for schools to participate in
NursingCAS.
