SALT LOCK CITY
The Jazz have continued their defensive prowess into the 2015-16 season, ranking fifth or higher in
several opponent categories. Utah is fourth in opponent points per game (97.3) and those points have
not come as easy as the team has held opponents to a league-low 18.8 assists per game. Opponents
aren’t getting many looks either, as the squad is second in opponent field goals attempted (79.4) and in
opponent field goals made (35.5). The Jazz are also cleaning up on the glass, holding opponents to only
40.5 rebounds total (third).

IDAHO STAMPEDE
On March 24, 2015, Utah acquired the Idaho Stampede to become one of 19 NBA teams to fully own and operate their
own D-League team. On 2/27, Idaho fell to the Los Angeles D-Fenders, 117-107. Brandon Fields led the Stampede with
29 points and eight assists. Tibor Pleiss posted a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds.
THE JOE INGLES SHOW ON 1280 THE ZONE
In its second year, “The Joe Ingles Show” will air Thursday mornings at 9 a.m. during 2015-16 season. Ingles
will be on-air with David James and Patrick Kinahan on the “DJ & PK Morning Show”. Joe’s insight on the
game and his humorous personality make it a can’t-miss weekly segment. “Slo-Mo Joe is smart and funny,”
host Kinahan said. “No one else can tell you the things he knows about the Utah Jazz.”
COMMUNITY CORNER
Utah Jazz players visited 10 elementary schools in two days as
part of the 18th annual “Be A Team Player – Read!” contest. The
program required local students to chart and report their out-ofschool reading minutes for one month. More than 18,600 students
from 37 elementary schools participated in this year’s contest
reading a combined total of 11,333,832 minutes.
The winning schools are (in alphabetical order): Arches Academy
(Orem), Lincoln Academy (Pleasant Grove), Middle Canyon
Elementary (Tooele), Northlake Elementary (Tooele), The Ranches
Academy (Eagle Mountain), Redeemer Lutheran School (Salt Lake
City), St. John the Baptist Elementary (Draper), St. Olaf Elementary
(Bountiful), Syracuse Arts Academy Antelope (Syracuse), and
Syracuse Arts Academy North (Syracuse).
The Jazz are awarded 10 runner-up schools with a team
autographed basketball. These schools include (in alphabetical
order): Beacon Heights Elementary (Salt Lake City), Christ Lutheran
School (Murray), Eagle Bay Elementary (Farmington), Harvest
Elementary (Saratoga Springs), Kearns-Saint Ann Catholic School
(Salt Lake City), Monticello Academy (West Valley City), Nibley Park
School (Salt Lake City), North Ogden Elementary (Ogden), Reid
School (Salt Lake City), St. Francis Xavier Catholic School (Kearns).
“Be A Team Player – Read!” is made possible by Scholastic Book Fairs, Russell’s Ice Cream, Med One Capital, Dairy Council of Utah & Nevada and
Papa John’s Pizza and is part of the Utah Jazz organization’s ongoing efforts to support youth development and education.
The Utah Jazz will host 30 rare children during tonight’s game at Vivint Smart Home Arena. The youth, living with chronic and debilitating rare
diseases, will stand with members of the Jazz and Nets during the National Anthem. One in 10 Utahns suffers from a rare disease, and the
organization Utah Rare is marking Rare Disease Day with a series of events Feb. 27-29. The group’s attendance at the Jazz game is supported by
tickets through the Jazz player donation program and sponsored by a grassroots organization, known as RUN for Rare and Undiagnosed Network. The
children will also be wearing lapel pins and wristbands from the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD).
The Utah Jazz will host “An Evening with the Utah Jazz,” a new, signature charitable fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Utah and Larry H. Miller
Charities on March 15 at Vivint Smart Home Arena. Tables of eight will allow guests the opportunity to join owner Gail Miller, Head Coach Quin Snyder,
Jazz players, as well as other Jazz celebrities determined through a live, random table drawing at the event.
“An Evening with the Utah Jazz” will be held on the main floor of Vivint Smart Home Arena and will feature suits and sneakers, a three-course gourmet
dinner, silent and live auctions, on-court shooting contests, Jazz Bear and team photo opportunities, live music and more.
The Utah Jazz and Mountain America Credit Union announced that Kauri Sue Hamilton School is this season’s fourth recipient of “Pass It Along,” a
program featuring fan nomination opportunities that rewards five local charitable organizations with $5,000 each. Kauri Sue Hamilton School, which
provides students with disabilities an appropriate and individualized educational program, was presented with a $5,000 donation prior to the Feb. 19
game at Vivint Smart Home Arena.
Rodney Hood, Trey Lyles and Raul Neto helped give back to the city of Toronto while attending All-Star Weekend. Lyles and Neto rolled up their
sleeves during the NBA’s annual Day of Service to help sort and repack 110,000 pounds of food donations to benefit more than 30,000 Canadians in
need at the Daily Bread Food Bank. Hood participated in a Special Olympics clinic for 75 athletes at Enercare Centre as part of NBA Centre Court.

Relations department including community events and team appearances.

QUIN SNYDER
Getting Ac-QUIN-ted
Quin Snyder became the eighth head coach in Utah Jazz history, and only the fifth since the franchise moved to
Utah in 1979, on June 6, 2014. With over 20 years of coaching experience, and 10 years of head coaching
experience, Snyder has sat beside some of the game’s most respected names and has coached in all walks of
basketball life, including the NCAA, the NBA Developmental League, the EuroLeague and the NBA. Snyder most
recently comes to Utah from the Atlanta Hawks, where he was an assistant to Head Coach Mike Budenholzer.
From 2007-10, Snyder was the head coach of the Developmental League’s Austin Toros (the D-League affiliate
of the San Antonio Spurs). With the Toros, Snyder garnered a 94-56 (.627) record, seeing the playoffs each year
and advancing to at least the D-League Semifinals every season.
In Snyder’s inaugural season, he inherited a team that had gone 21-29 the year before and flipped the script
guiding the Toros to a 30-20 record, a Southwest Division Title and an appearance in the 2008 D-League
Championship game. In 2009, Snyder was named the Dennis Johnson Coach of the Year. During his three
seasons in Austin, Snyder sent more players to the NBA and won more games than any other D-League coach.
Snyder got his first NBA coaching gig as an assistant with the Los Angeles Clippers in 1992-93, from there
Snyder served as an assistant/associate head coach at his alma mater Duke University from 1993-99. He
landed his first head coaching job with the NCAA’s Missouri Tigers and held that position for seven seasons
(1999-06). After his success with the Toros, Snyder went on as a player development coach with Philadelphia
(2010-11) and an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Lakers (2011-12), CSKA Moscow (2012-13) and
Atlanta Hawks (2013-14) serving under some of the most respected coaches in basketball.

Snyder competed collegiately at Duke University (1985-89), averaging 6.2 points, 4.2 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game in
136 games. Snyder led the Blue Devils to three Final Fours (1986, 1988, and 1989) and won two ACC Championships (1986, 1988).
Academically, Snyder was named to the ACC Honor Roll three times. Snyder attended training camp with the Indiana Pacers after
finishing his career at Duke, but went on to pursue other coaching endeavors.
A native of Mercer Island, Wash., Snyder earned undergraduate degrees in both philosophy and political science at Duke and later
earned a Juris Doctor and M.B.A from there as well.
