Notes:
1 Consult with major advisor regarding appropriate choice of emphasis and UD GE. The emphasis in Fitness, Physical Activity, and Society or in Social
Science Studies in Physical Activity allows for the most double counting. Choosing a different emphasis may require additional units.
2 If
ENG 214 or equivalent is not completed prior to transfer, progress in the major and length of time for degree completion may be affected.

To Do at SF State:
Enough total units to reach 120 minimum for graduation; 40 units minimum at the upper division level; to include the following:
University wide requirements: 0-9 units

ENG 214 if not completed prior to transfer (0-3 units)

American Institutions: US Government, California State and Local Government requirements if not completed prior to transfer (0-3
units)

Upper division GE: 9 units; includes U.S. History if not completed prior to transfer. Remaining 6 units can be satisfied by taking 2
courses that also satisfy major requirements.

Students entering the major with the AA-T in Kinesiology are not required to fulfill Overlay and Complementary Studies requirements.
Kinesiology: Concentration in Exercise and Movement Sciences major: 40-58 units (already met in transfer: KIN 250, BIOL 220 or 328,
BIOL 212/213, 1 unit of activity)




Prerequisites: 0-8 units (BIOL 100 or 230 and/or MATH 124 if not taken as part of the AA-T)
Core: 19 units (KIN 330GW, KIN 457, KIN 480, KIN 384, KIN 486, KIN 504)
Concentration: 10-19 units of courses not chosen as part of the AS-T (KIN 482, KIN 483, KIN 485, KIN 696 or 697-8 or 699, plus
CHEM 101/102 or 115 and/or PHYS 101/102 or 111/112 if not taken in transfer)
Emphasis (11-12 units)
University electives: 2-20 depending on the number of units transferred, course choices made at the community college, and how transferred units are
applied to the requirements above.
This roadmap is a sample pathway. Check with a major advisor regarding the most appropriate course sequence for you.
