(Cost: $8,000) Los Brujanes La Iglesia de Convertidos a Cristo (ICC) is a Baptist church, founded in 1981 in Santo Domingo that has planted numerous churches through the country. Los Brujanes is one of those church plants, roughly 45 minutes southwest of Santo Domingo with an impoverished population between 6,000-8,000. Empowering Action has been blessed to assist with construction of a muchneeded children’s ministry building, restroom facilities and the establishment of a daily preschool program. In addition, water contracts are now being provided through the church and regular medical clinics take place in the community. Quisqueya Situated about an hour outside of the capital of Santo Domingo, Quisqueya is impoverished community of 20,000. Villa Consuelo Over 20 years ago, Pastor Felix began pastoring at the church now known as Con Cristo Se Puede (With Christ You Are Able). Felix felt particularly called to serve the drug-affected youth and adults of Villa Consuelo—one of the rougher neighborhoods in Santo Domingo; a sector known for commercial refurbishment of materials goods, as well as a deep problem of drug use. A men’s rehabilitation ministry has been a staple of the church’s community ministry for many years. Additionally, 100 students participate in a daily children’s ministry. Empowering Action provides regular support to this ministry, including facilitating child sponsorship through His Hands Support Ministries. Vietnam Mt. Calvary is a six-year-old church situated in an extremely dangerous, riverside neighborhood called Vietnam, outside of Santo Domingo. The area is in great need of The Lord Jesus Christ, and Empowering Action has contributed by assisting in the construction of the church building, laboring to tile a concrete floor, as well as facilitating a shoe distribution, used as an evangelism tool, resulting in 32 adults and children coming to Christ. Empowering Action also recently assisted with construction of the children’s ministry room and restroom facilities.
