Dear friends and colleagues,
It gives me immense pleasure to serve you for last three years but one staggering thought that comes to my mind
is ”Did I delivered optimally “ I cannot answer for the same ,friends you are the best judge. It was a great
challenge to improve the scientific content of our conferences and to make it more interactive ,dynamic and
friendly.
Our journey started from Bijnor to the city of Sangam Allahabad having milestones on the way Jhansi, Jaunpur
, Noida , Saharanpur . Bijnor Mid-Term was organized under Dr.T.C.Agarwal and Dr.P.C.Chawala. A live
surgery session was performed by eminent surgeons of our state. Glue less stitch less pterygium surgery done by
a phaco surgeon Dr.V.K.Tewari from Ghaziabad I still remember. I want to thank my journey colleagues
Dr.Prakash Gupta and Dr.Ramesh Chandra Jhansi where 48th annual conference held and first time OPL was
introduced .My cordial thanks to Dr.Ashish Jaswal President who gave me his all time support during his term.
Midterm conference with live surgery telecast at jaunpur under Dr N.K.Singh was a great attraction. I want to

give my special thanks to Dr.Mohita Sharma and Dr.Arun Sangal for their esteemed efforts to make 49 annual
conference most memorable and history making. This conference is known for introducing so many new ideas
like wet labs, hands on training, booth lectures, breakfast with experts, Masters of the Universe – Dr.Amar
Agarwal .Women in ophthalmology-session was introduced the very first time in India now getting unbound
success from all over India which has become a pride platform under hard liner young enthusiastic leady
Dr.Mohita Sharma . Under Dr.R.R.Sukul President I learnt and developed so many good qualities to make the
scientific sessions more academic and valuable to young ophthalmologists.
A special thanks to Dr Brajesh Gupta and Dr.Khanna for their extreme efforts to make Saharanpur Mid –Term

Conference successful. Now we are looking forward to Allahabad conference to celebrate our 50 Annual
Conference as Golden Jubilee Conference under expert guidance of Dr.D.J.Pandey(President) , Dr.Kamaljeet
Singh(General Secretary) , Dr.S.P.Singh(Chairman & Organizing Secretary) we will try to cover most of the
topics academically.
Cordially I thank my team Dr.Alka gupta,Dr.Sobi Pandey,Dr.Sharad Bajapai,Dr.Ram Yash Yadav and
Dr.Ashok Agarwal who gave me their valuable time and support in making the scientific program so beautiful.
Every time we had increasing attendance of delegates it's a sign of our improvement of our society and
conferences.
Milestones in last three years:
1. Set and stuck to deadline for every activity of the scientific activity.
2. Ensured punctuality in the running of the sessions , delegates were seen more in sessions then trade.
3. Introduction of Instructions Courses.
4. OPL , Ophthalmic Quiz, New concepts New ideas, Wet labs, Hands on Training, Booth Lectures,
Breakfast with experts, Video- session and video assisted training session, Live Surgeries on remote cases,
National seminars made scientific content rich. Women in ophthalmology session was introduced for the
first time in UPSOS.
5. Cash and kind prizes were given to winners of free paper and attending delegates.
