The Sydney Region Jazz Camp 2012 is a two-day non-residential program for high school students in
Sydney Region Schools. Students who are interested in playing Jazz will gain experience playing in an
ensemble as well as developing their own improvisation skills. Students will be lead by DEC teachers who
specialize in jazz and professional jazz educators. The program caters for students who play: saxophone,
trumpet, trombone, jazz guitar, bass and drums.
This two-day workshop takes place at Sydney Secondary College (SSC) Leichhardt Campus and culminates
in a special performance at the Swing Supper Dance SSC Blackwattle Bay Campus. All students are
required to attend both workshop days PLUS the performance. Parents, family and friends are invited to
purchase tickets to watch the final performance in a great night of live jazz and dancing with a special
performance b y Judy Bailey’s Jazz Connection. Tickets will be available at the door.

No RBSC teachers will be at this camp. Supervision will be provided by Sydney Secondary College.
