KIXTimeAccounting – Booking times at cost drivers
Requirements
To install and use the OTRS extension “KIXTimeAccounting” your installation environment
needs to fulfil the following requirements:

OTRS 3.3.x or higher

KIXCore 3.0.0 or higher
•
KIX4OTRS 6.0.0 or higher
Functionality
After you have installed KIXTimeAccounting you find a new tab called „Time Accounting“ in
the ticket zoom view of OTRS. Here you have the possibility to add a time entry with some
options. You have to insert the time units, the description, the date and the agent for whom
the time should be posted. Optionally you can select a value of a reference field (e.g. Cost
Center) if activated. You have also the possibility to edit or delete existing entries. You have
also the possibility to add a time entry with some options without creating a ticket article.

You may use booking references directly from the CMDB
(example: according the configured CI class "Project" and
"Work package"). This subdivision may include up to 4
levels (example: project – sub-project – work package –
sub-work package).
If you set project budget or work package budget within
CI, the rest budget will be displayed additionally to the
booking reference on the ticket.

Automatically, you get an overview of the relevant (assigned) tickets which are linked with
the chosen CI. The overview can be displayed after you click on the button „Assigned tickets“
in the ticket overview.
If you also set company-ID or customer-IDs for a project / work package CIs (maintenance
within company backends), you may set and manage budgets per customer. Then, the
budgets will be displayed in the CustomerInformationCenter. These budgets are a sum of all
booked times of all relevant customer tickets. The customer-ID set on ticket is not relevant
for the sum, the booking reference is relevant.
Negative amounts will be displayed in red to communicate directly the budget overrun to all
servicedesk agents.
In the reporting area of OTRS you can find a special report to analyse the data of „Time
Accounting“. You have the possibility to select one or more agents and one or more
reference fields as parameters for this report.
