From San Francisco and Marin:
!
SERRA Rescue Ranch is south of Petaluma, along Lakeville Highway, and just two miles
North of Highway 37.
From the SF and Marin, take Highway 101 North and veer off right onto the Highway 37
Napa /Sonoma exit.
From that junction continue on 37 until you see the first traffic light.
That is Lakeville Highway. Turn left onto Lakeville Highway then drive about 2 miles to
our driveway which is directly off Lakeville, on your left hand side.
A good landmark—about 500 yards before our driveway—is the ‘SLEEPY HOLLOW DAIRY’
on your left as you approach our driveway entrance which is also your left.
After you pass the dairy, look to your left and you will see a left turn lane and a road going
west toward the river with a big white sign—and also a big bunch of RED BALLOONS.
That is our turn off. A road sign says ‘Twin House Ranch Road’. The big white sign says
‘Sonoma Horse Park.’ Turn left there. From that turn it is 1.8 miles to our driveway.
Note—the road meanders–as country roads do–but please stay on that road—do not turn off
or you could get lost! (Well done you are almost there!)
After twisting and turning along our road, at the 1.8 mile mark, you'll see ahead of you a very
tall wood archway spanning over the road, and a big equestrian center beyond.
That is the Sonoma Horse Park entrance to–do not drive straight through the Archway.
Rather, immediately before the Archway, on your right is another gravel road.
That is our driveway–and you will see our Sonoma Equine Rescue sign there.
!
That sign will also have red balloons attached to it. (Yay...you've almost made it!)
Now…turn right onto that gravel road. Please drive SLOWLY (as there are horses and they
spook at fast cars) approximately one quarter mile to our gates.
A volunteer will be there to greet and show you to your parking space. From your parking
space you'll be shown to the greeting table and your fun afternoon with the horses will begin!
One request...PLEASE DO NOT BRING DOGS! We love dogs, but our rescue horses are all
in different stages of recovery, and all it could take is one overly excited dog chasing or
barking at a horse to cause an unfortunate accident. Thanks for understanding!
