The Land O’Lakes, Fla., native was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle in a 3-for-3 performance against Kansas on Feb. 26. Went 2-0 with a 0.93 ERA in the circle last week for Tulsa. She led the Golden Hurricane to a 3-0 win over No. 24/21 Texas with a two-hit, complete-game shutout. She induced 12 ground-outs against the Longhorns. On Friday against Weber State, she pitched eight innings, struck out five and allowed two earned runs in Tulsa’s 5-3 extra-inning win.. AMERICAN NOTEBOOK UCF 25/NR (7-8 Overall, 0-0 American) EAST CAROLINA (11-6 Overall, 0-0 American) USF (7-8 Overall, 0-0 American) • UCF went 3-1 at the Citrus Classic II, held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla. The Knights fell to then-No. 23/NR Notre Dame, before winning three straight games. • East Carolina finished with a 4-1 record at the Citrus Classic II, held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla. The Pirates lost their first game 8-0 against then-No.23/NR Notre Dame, and finished the tournament with four consecutive wins. • USF compiled a 4-1 record over the weekend, as the team hosted the USF Tournament. • The Pirates won their second 1-0 contest of the season, as they defeated Bryant on Friday. ECU has shut out three opponents in 2016. • Lee Ann Spivey led the 13-hit attack with a 3-for-3 performance as USF topped UNLV 9-1 in five innings on Friday. • East Carolina notched a season-high 13 hits in the 8-4 win against North Florida, and followed it up with their secondhighest total of the year (12) in the 7-2 victory over Yale. • On Saturday Spivey had her first home run of the season to give USF the walk-off win against Wisconsin. Spivey is now just 11 runs away from tying the USF career home run record. • Senior Jessica Ujvari provided the Knights’ lone run of the game against No. 23/NR Notre Dame. Her third home run of the season was a solo shot over the left center wall. • Eight different Knights recorded a hit in the 8-2 win against Yale on Friday. Taylor Bell and junior Brittany Solis led the way with two hits each. Four batters finished with at least one run batted in. Bell was one of two Knights to knock in multiple runs. • In a 4-0 win over Syracuse, UCF’s second shutout of the season, Kalyn Cenal went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the UCF offense, while Linnea Goodman was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. • ECU upped its season home run total to 11, as Karlie Smith leads the team with three homers. • On Friday USF erased a 4-0 deficit and Juli Weber hit an RBI walk-off double in the Bulls’ 6-5 victory over Kansas. • As the team topped Morgan State 5-3 on Sunday, ECU netted its fourth come-from-behind win of the season. The Pirates are now 4-1 in games decided by two runs or less. • In Sunday’s 6-0 win over Kansas, Erica Nunn retired 17 batters in a row. She recorded six strikeouts and gave up just two walks in the complete game one-hitter. Nunn faced just three batters over the minimum in her 10th career complete game. UCONN (3-11 Overall, 0-0 American) HOUSTON (8-8 Overall, 0-0 American) TULSA (11-4 Overall, 0-0 American) • UConn traveled to Santa Clara, Calif., to play in the SCU Invitational. The Huskies went 0-5 at the tournament. • Houston played in the Diamond Devil Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., and finished the weekend 2-3 with a pair of wins over Mount St. Mary’s. • Tulsa shut out then-No. 24/21 Texas twice at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas. The Hurricane handed the Longhorns their first two losses of the season. Tulsa went 3-2 at the tournament. • Jamie Ujvari tossed a complete game against the Orange to earn her first win of the season. The Pensacola, Fla., native fanned seven batters while holding Syracuse to four hits. • Taylor Townsend and Lexi Gifford each registered two hits in the Huskies’ Friday matchup with Nevada. Townsend also tallie two RBIs. • Freshman Kelly Bates went 2-for-3 with two RBIs on Saturday, in UConn’s second game against Nevada. MEMPHIS (5-10 Overall, 0-0 American) • Memphis went 3-1 at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic in Gulfport, Miss., over the weekend, before recording a 5-2 home win over Jackson State on Wednesday. • Over the weekend Brittany Seale hit .545 in 11 at-bats, scoring four runs with six hits and three RBI. • Freshman outfielder Jessie Lamb hit .444 at the tournament and led Memphis with four runs scored and drew a team-high five walks. She also added two stolen bases while making her first four starts of the season in the outfield. • Freshman pitcher Bayleigh Wisher struck out nine and held Jackson State without a run in a 5-2 win in Memphis’ home opener.
