Cooking With Gabby® Presents
In association with
National Basketball Retired Players Association
The Second Annual
Celebrity Golf Challenge
& Gala Awards Dinner
Monday, October 22, 2012
Tournament: 10 AM – Cocktails: 4 PM – Reception: 6 PM
The Beautiful MountainGate Country Club
Dear Prospective Sponsor:
On Tuesday, October 22nd, 2012, Cooking With Gabby® will be hosting our 2nd Annual Celebrity Golf Challenge at the beautiful MountainGate Country
Club in West Los Angeles. Cooking With Gabby has partnered with the Los Angeles Chapter – National Basketball Retired Players Association, which
will give golfers the exclusive opportunity to play with and against some of their favorite NBA legends. At last year’s tournament over 50 golfers and 13
retired NBA players including – Lucius Allen, Byron Scott, Jamaal Wilkes, and Norm Nixon – came out to support our cause. This year, we expect close
to 250 golfers and many more celebrity guests!
Our children need your help. Children throughout our inner-cities are completely void of programs and community resources needed to educate them
about the critical importance of living active, healthy and nutritious lives. Thirty-three percent of U.S. children are overweight or obese resulting in life
limiting diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. A life without healthy options dramatically impacts our children’s health and their day to day
activities; in school, at the park, and at home, not to mention their overall quality of life and longevity. Cooking With Gabby provides resources and
programs to those who need them the most, at no cost to the participant. To accomplish these goals, we need the generosity of people like you.
This event will offer your company some unique exposure. All of our prospective players are age 23 to 60, most are active participants in sports (at the
very least they play golf), and most come from the greater Los Angeles Area. In addition to exposure to our players, your company’s logo will be seen by
those not participating in the golf challenge that happen to be at the country club. Banners, branded with sponsorship logos will receive excellent
placement in well traveled areas of the event. Not only will your company receive significant brand placement among a very specific market segment but
you will also be seen as a benefactor of the community for supporting such an imperative cause.
We invite your organization to partner with us in raising money to support Los Angeles’ inner-city youth and families. There is no reason any American
family should have to eat unhealthy food or suffer from food insecurity. Your organization has the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of and be
seen as a supporter of low-income, marginalized American households. Please take a moment to look over our sponsorship package and visit our YouTube
page to watch a video of last year’s tournament!

Testimonials:
“This nonprofit has brought the
much needed attention of
childhood obesity and proper
nutrition to the forefront of our
community. … The people in the
community look forward to them
bringing their knowledge and
expertise every week and getting to
explore and learn more about
healthy food and lifestyle choices.
This is a great program for the
whole family and especially for urban impact areas”.
~Itzel Gutierrez – Coordinador, Algin Sutton Park
“Cooking With Gabby is a great organization which teaches kids
about living a long and healthy life.”
~Calvin Davis, 1st Year, Loyola Law School & CWG
Volunteer
“Cooking With Gabby is an organization making direct change
and having real affects on the lives of children in the inner city.
I’ve seen with my own eyes the way this non-profit has gotten the
attention of kids who would probably otherwise be further
exposed to negative influences and teach them about living a
healthy lifestyle. CWG is giving these kids a fully immersed
experience preparing healthy meals while simultaneously
educating them with the facts…”

Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl & CWG Volunteer
