Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai Department of Chemical Engineering Adv/AVP&AWP/DST/01 3I't May 2014 Applications are invited on plain paper along with a copy of up-to-date CV, for 01 (one) position of Junior Research Fellow (36 months) for the implementation ,Departrnent of a of Science & Technology (DST)' research project trlled, "synthesis of novel membranes and their applications in vtaste m.inimisalion crncl recovery of valuable chemicals om dilute fi acllrcous streams", coordinated by Prof. Anand V. Patwardhan and Dr. Ashwin W. Patwardha' (Department of chemical Engineering, ICT, Mumbai). The specific objectives of the project are: 1. Synthesis of ceramic I zeolite membranes using previously reported synthesis methods. 2. Characterisation of synthesised membranes using techniques such as XRD, SEM, etc. to relate the observed membrane performance conditions. TEM, to its structure and the synthesis 3. Testing of synthesised membranes for use in recovery of solvents from dilute aqueous streams. Long term separations "objectives for are to develop in-house capabilities in the area of membrane yarious applications, and to identify relationship between membrane synthesis methods, membrane properties, and performance of the membrane in terms of the flux and selectivity. The potential applications of this work would be in several diverse fields, such as, water treatment, water remediation, fuel cells. etc. Elieibltify: Master's degree in chemical Engineering / chemical rechnology candidate having relevant previous experience will be preferred. The selected candidate prescribed by DST. will be paid Junior Research Fellowship at the prevailing rates as Applications should be addressed to: The Vice Chancellor (Attn: Prof. Anand V. patwardhan) Institute of Chemical Technology Nathalal M.
