He and his team works with partners to carry out R&D, testbedding and demonstration activities to translate research findings into best practices and to accelerate the adoption of promising technologies. Dr Gao has been actively involved in several major sustainable projects in Singapore and China, such as the Zero Energy Building at BCA Academy and the Tianjin Eco-­‐city. Trained as an engineer, Dr Gao obtained his doctorate from NUS and worked as a consultant, researcher and Green Mark assessor before he joined GBIC. He is a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-­‐Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the China Green Building Council (ChinaGBC). Dr. Sekhar Kondepudi Associate Professor, School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore Dr. Sekhar Kondepudi has 25 years of global business and product experience in a variety of technology verticals including Smart Buildings, Smart Cities, Internet of Things and Energy E fficiency in the Built Environment. His experience spans academia, applied research and strategic planning, product management, business development & strategic sales in cross-­‐discipline industry. He is a much sought after speaker on the topic of smart sustainable cities and building energy efficiency with presentations all across the world. Previously, Dr. Kondepudi led Global Product Management and Business Development for Smart+ Connected Communities (S+CC) Platform & Solutions at Cisco Systems. Previously, he was a General Manager of Mobile Devices for Wind River Systems, Director of Business Development at Motorola and worked at a variety of high tech start-­‐ups in Silicon Valley. Mr. Dion Anandity Sustainability leader, Arup Singapore Pte Ltd Dion leads the sustainability team in Singapore to deliver regional projects across Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. With a background in architecture, Dion is passionate about passive and active design. In his role as a sustainability consultant, his expertise is in optimising a building's architectural design passively to conserve energy consumption while enhancing the indoor environmental quality. His early architectural projects leveraged on environmentally-­‐conscious design approaches, advocating the implementation of sustainability in the early design stages of the project. As a LEED Pro Reviewer for the United States Green Building Council, Dion is one of few globally who is certified to review LEED AP’s educational materials. Dion brings a wide range of sustainability expertise to clients. Dr. Shinobu Y oshida General Manager, M atsudo Research Center, Infrastructure Systems Company, H itachi, Ltd. Dr. Yoshida has supervised research projects for industrial plant systems such as power station, water environment, and building air-­‐conditioning for last 4 years and specializes in promoting plant construction technologies utilizing IT and mechatronics. He has 34 years’ experience in the research field of structural dynamics, modeling and mechatronics and has worked for the development of mechatronics products such as hard disk drives, automated teller machines, and laser processing machines for printed circuit boards. D r. Yoshida has extensive experience in the setting up Research Lab in Singapore. He is a Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers as well as a Fellow of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. Mr Edmund Leong BIM-­‐Manager, S traits Construction Singapore Pte Ltd An Advocate in technologies to improving quality and productivity in Building Projects, Edmund currently leads a team with a vision to enable the organisation’s business with BIM, incorporating activities from pre-­‐contract to post-­‐contract, and prefabrications. In addition, he is also working on fostering a BIM value-­‐chain for in-­‐house projects, beginning with a Developer/Owner’s perspective down to Operational Management. Edmund is also an active member in several Singapore’s BIM related workgroups and has contributed in the development of Singapore’s BIM Guides and Training Curriculums. Dr. Shen Lijun BEng, M Eng, PhD, Assistant Professor, School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore Dr. Shen Lijun is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Building, National University of Singapore (NUS). He is a seasoned researcher and Information Technology developer of web, database and mobile systems in the building and infrastructure domains. His present R&D areas include Building Information Modeling (BIM), CityGML, semantic search, big data, machine learning, building performance simulation, and IT-­‐based project and facility management. Mr. Tan Szue Hann Principal Architect & Deputy Head (Sustainable Urban Solutions) Surbana Jurong Szue Hann is a Registered Architect with the Board of Architects, Singapore, and a Council Member of the Singapore Institute of Architects, chairing the Institution Thrust. He has been involved in several award-­‐winning building projects, also been an invited reviewer at the key architectural institutions in Singapore, and a speaker and moderator at various conferences. With the Sustainable Urban Solutions team led by Dr Uma Maheswaran, Szue Hann’s current work is in sustainable and smart urban environments in Singapore and the region, including BCA SkyLab, a test bed for future smart and sustainable building technologies. In September 2015, Szue Hann was awarded the BCA-­‐SGBC Young Green Architect of the Year Award. Christopher Chuah LLB ( Hons) , Dip Surv ( CEM), FCIArb, FCIOB, Partner, Wong Partnership LLP Christopher Chuah heads the Infrastructure, Construction & Engineering Practice at Wong Partnership LLP. His main areas of practice encompass both front-­‐end drafting/advice and construction disputes, both litigation and arbitration. He has acted for subcontractors, main contractors and developers in numerous arbitration disputes both domestic and international. Christopher has also acted as leading counsel numerous reported landmark cases on construction law. Christopher has authored and co-­‐
authored many books and guidelines in the field of building and construction law. Christopher is an Adjunct Associate Professor in construction law at the Law Faculty of the National University of Singapore. He has been identified as a leading individual in Singapore for Construction work by The Legal 500: Asia Pacific – The Client's Guide to the Asia Pacific Legal Profession since 2001.
