Howdy!
This document is the combined information for all five Swapla Law School Caravan fairs.
Included is information about bus itineraries, shipping, site information, parking and more.
The document is organized with the travel/bus itinerary first, followed by shipping information
for all five caravan locations. Please use addresses as they are presented to avoid delays. Make
sure that your box clearly indicates the common name of your law school on the box.
Finally, each caravan site has two pages of information about its law fair.
I send my personal thanks to law schools willing to share tables in this challenging recruiting
season.

Swapla Caravan 2013 Bus Itinerary
Monday, October 14, Lubbock, Texas
Texas Tech University
12:30 to 3:30 (Note—lunch is being served prior to the fair, at 11:30)
Buses pick up at Overton Hotel at 11:00 a.m. and deliver law school representatives to Student Union
Building Ballroom. Please take your luggage with you to the campus. You may leave it in the bus luggage
storage during the fair.
Buses return at 3:30 and depart at 3:45 for the Lubbock International Airport.
Buses will not return to the hotel. Law School representatives should book a flight to Dallas, Texas,
either Love Field (DAL) or DFW International (DFW). Law school representatives will make their own
arrangements from the airport to the Renaissance Hotel in Richardson, Texas.
Tuesday, October 15, Richardson (Dallas), Texas
University of Texas at Dallas, Visitors Center Atrium
Law Fair 10:00 to 12:30 (Note—lunch is being served after the Law Fair)
Buses begin the day at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel, 900 E. Lookout Drive, Richardson, TX.
Buses should be at the hotel at 9:00 a.m. and depart for law fair no later than 9:30 a.m. Buses will NOT
be returning to the Renaissance Hotel, so please take your luggage.
Law School Representatives will have lunch after the law fair, and the bus drivers can, too. The buses
should be prepared to leave the university at 1:45 for Austin, Texas, Courtyard Marriott Downtown, 300
East 4th St., Austin, 78701.
Wednesday, October 16, College Station, Texas
Texas A&M University
Law Fair, 11 to 3 (Note- lunch is served during the law fair)
Buses depart Austin Courtyard at 8:45 for College Station, Texas. The buses will drop off passengers on
Joe Routt Blvd., one block east of Wellborn Road, in front of the Kyle Field Football Stadium. The Law
Fair is in The Zone at Kyle Field. Buses may park at the George Bush Library, or somewhere else in town.
Buses should return at 3:15 and depart at 3:30 for the Austin Courtyard Downtown.

University of Texas at Austin
Law Fair, 11 to 3 (Note—lunch is served during the law fair) at Texas Union Ballroom.
Buses depart Austin Courtyard at 10:15. Buses will not return to hotel at conclusion of fair. Those
traveling on to San Antonio should load their bags and remember which bus they ride. Those departing
from Austin Airport and not attending San Antonio events can either take their bags with them to the
Law Fair (storage under table) or check them with concierge at the hotel.
Parking for buses on campus is not available. Buses could consider large parking areas at Mueller on 135 and 51st street. Buses should return to campus about 3:15.
Bus departs from UT Austin at 3:30. Buses will go non-stop to the Marriott Plaza in San Antonio.

At 10:15, two buses will take law school representatives to UTSA at the 1604 Campus and they will be
dropped off at the Convocation Center. Buses will park in BK5, Lot 11. The law fair concludes at 2 p.m.
Please note!!!!Right now we anticipate at least one bus will drop off at the SAT airport, then continue
back to hotel if there are riders. I really anticipate that both buses will go to the airport, and only one
will be needed to continue on to the hotel.

This will be held in the main student building on campus that arguably has the highest student traffic,
especially during lunchtime (12-1). We currently have 1,430 self-identified PreLaw students and we
have marketed the caravan to regional schools.
Guest wifi access has been arranged. Additionally laptops and printers will be available in the Red
Raider Lounge for law school representatives to use.
Lunch will be provided with fruit, veggie, cheese, and dessert trays available throughout the conference
along with soda, coffee, and water.
DRIVING INFORMATION
For those arriving at the airport, PreLaw Ambassadors will be available to help gather luggage and get to
the Overton Hotel shuttles or cabs as needed. SWAPLA will provide a bus from the Overton to the
Student Union Building and from the Student Union Building to the Preston Smith Airport.
For those driving the best access to the reserved parking is to take the Marsha Sharp Freeway (I-82) and
exit at University. Turn South on University. Continue 3 blocks, turning West on 15th. From this
entrance you will pass a parking booth that will point you to the correct parking lot (R-13 Visitor).
Ambassadors and the parking attendant at R-13 will then point you to the Student Union Building next
door.

A free shuttle runs from the Preston Smith airport to the Overton Hotel. SWAPLA will reserve busses to
transport law school representatives to the airport after the event.

DRIVING INFORMATION
Swapla is providing bus transportation to UTD, and afterwards to the Austin Hotel. For those driving
themselves, here are some tips on one-way street, long-term construction or other local hints to help
the law school reps find you. If part of a caravan, details regarding time/travel to next site.
From US-75, drive west on Campbell Road, turn right on Waterview Pkwy, turn right on Drive A. Reps
can drive to end of Drive A, pull into the islet immediately north of the Activity Center (AB on map) to
unload, and then park in either Lot I, K or M.
PARKING

Shuttles, permits, validation, etc. – Lots I, K, M have pay-by-space spots and kiosks
Material drop-off details – Reps can pull into the Visitor Center Roundabout or Activity Center islet to
drop off materials.

DRIVING INFORMATION
Highly recommended for law schools to ride the bus. They should check online at www.swapla.org to
see if they indicated they were riding the bus. Parking at Texas A&M University on October 16, 2013,
will be crowded, so those driving a car may also consider carpooling with another law school
representative. During that week, a major national transportation conference is being held on campus.
Our website at http://maps.tamu.edu has the best driving instructions from most major Texas cities. Be
aware that sometimes GPS will direct folks to drive from Austin, to Hearne, to College Station. This will
take an extra 30-45 minutes! From Austin, take the route that includes U.S. 290, to Texas 21, to Texas
47 which terminates a mile from campus.
PARKING
Again, parking will be tight. You can find information about parking garages on campus at
https://transport.tamu.edu/Parking/visitor.aspx I would recommend the West Campus Garage and Lot
61 are the closest Visitor Pay lots, and the University Center Garage is next closest. They do have an app
you can download for your phone from that page, and this app gives real-time space availability.

PARKING
Location The closest UT parking garage is the San Antonio Garage (SAG) at 2420 San Antonio Street
Street. Visit the SAG Map page for directions to the garage.
Another option is the private garage operated by the UT Co-Op at 2214 San Antonio Street, included in
the SAG Map. Unfortunately we cannot validate parking for either garage. Parking is by the hour and
will likely cost around $15 for the day. We cannot provide shuttles from the parking garage, but the
garage is less than two blocks away. Please remember to bring your ticket with you and pay on the first
floor prior to returning to your car.

PARKING
Ximenes Ave Garage (XAG) or Bauerle Garage (BRG).
South Campus (From UTSA Blvd): From UTSA Blvd, enter campus on Ximenes Ave and follow the street
to the Ximenes Ave Garage (XAG).
North Campus (From Loop 1604): Enter campus on John Peace Blvd, enter the traffic circle and follow
signs to visitor parking in the Bauerle Road Garage (BRG).
Parking hourly rate: $2.00
Parking Notes:
• Pull a ticket from the garage gate and park in any available space. Take your ticket with you.
• Please pay at one of the convenient pay stations (automated pay station) or the central cashier
(cashier window) prior to returning to your vehicle to exit. In the XAG, the pay stations are located on
the north side (closest to the HEB UC), just outside the cashier booth. In the BRG, there are pay stations
located at the stairwells as well as outside the cashier station, located on the first floor of the south west
side, closest to the Main Building and the JPL building. There are no space markings in the garages.
Payment is purely by hour, so it's important that guests take their ticket with them and don't lose it.
Insert your paid ticket at the exit gate.
Law school representatives riding a bus will be dropped off at the Convocation Center (in front of the CC
Building). Buses will park in BK5 (Lot 11) after drop off. No cost for bus parking.
