To: Grade 4 Parents CF From: Mrs. Cecero Re: Grade 4 Reading Cumulative Exam and Religion Archdiocesan Exam Outlines Reading- Thursday, May 29th Part 1: Reading Passages and Multiple Choice Questions: context clues, identifying the lesson of a story, man idea, identifying key details, character traits, chronology of story events, inferences, reading a poem- identify traits of poem (stanzas, lines, rhyming words), meaning of words used in poem Part 2: Students will read 2 passages with the same theme and answer questions that follow. Be able put story events in order and locate and clearly write the supportive details for questions that go with each passage. Part 3: Students will answer a long response question based on the passages of part 2. They should be able to describe the actions of a character, provide their opinion on a topic, and support their reasons with specific evidence from the passages. Capitalization, punctuation, and correct grammar will count. Religion- Thursday, June 4th a) Study all vocabulary term sheets that were given in May b) Study ALL handouts given as class work and homework that are related to exam c) The Ten Commandments d) Stations of the Cross e) The Two Great Commandments f) Memorize Holy Days of Obligation- dates and meanings g) Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy h) Beatitudes- How do we live them? Be able to give examples. i) Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary- names and explanations j) Steps in making a good moral choice- pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance, pray to Jesus, seek advice from a parent, teacher, or priest, think of the consequences of your actions, examine your conscience, think about Jesus’ teachings and God’s laws. k)Be able to give information about the life and example of one of the saints
