Attendance: Attendance is a criterion for your grade and is very important. We cover an abundance of
material in class and your success depends to a great extent on your attending every class and on your being
prepared for class. The decision to not attend class rest entirely with you, the student. If a class is missed,
the student is:
 Responsible for all material covered in class
 Expected to be familiar with the material covered in the missed class and therefore able to follow the
material covered in subsequent classes that build on the material covered in the missed class
 Expected to turn in the homework due on the date of the missed class, on time. Being absent from
class does not eliminate the need to complete and turn in homework on the assigned due date
There are no “excused” absences. Not attending a class for any reason will be recorded as an absence.
Attendance is taken each class; each student’s attendance record becomes part of the official academic
record.

the final grade at the end of the semester. A maximum of 5 points will be deducted. Consistent and repeated
late arrivals/early departures from class may be considered inappropriate/disruptive conduct, and may be
referred to the CMCC disciplinary staff for disposition.
