Program Requirements:
The Religious Studies major has a moderately flexible curriculum. All students must take RELS 2600:
“Approaches to the Study of Religion” and Religious Studies 4600: “Senior Seminar. In addition, students must
take two religious studies courses each in “Cultural Studies,” “Textual Studies,” and “Historical Studies.” Also
students must take two additional elective courses of their own choosing. Within this framework, students have
flexibility in designing their own program of study in consultation with an advisor, so students declaring as
sophomores and even in their junior year can usually finish their degree on schedule.
