E-portfolio Reflective cover Letter
This reflective cover letter is about what I have learned, and how I learned it. This
letter also introduces what a signature assignment is, and Value of my signature assignment.
Furthermore, I explained who general classes at SLCC is related to the course English 1010,
and value of general classes for my life. This reflective cover letter would prove information
about the English 1010 class.
I have learned writing strategics in English 1010 class. To be specific, i did not even
know what introduction of my writing should contain. But now i know the introduction have
to include thesis statement which is the focus of my essay and tells your reader what the essay
is going to be about.
How did i learn what to put in conclusion? I learned it from my instructor, Cris
Longhurst. Whenever i had to write an essay, she gave me a paper of a good instruction that
explains how introduction can be effective, and also taught me what introduction should have.
My group members and I had to write a signature assignment. For the assignment, we
had to select a debate with a specific topic, and needed to be one side: con or pro. Argument
of our position should have been demonstrated toward that issue on our paper.
The signature assignment was not easy but doing the assignment was a good
opportunity to learn about how to stand on my side that i have chosen on my writing. For
instance, My group members and I were against the idea that citizenship should not be given
to babies of illegal immigrants in the United States. Subsequently, I demonstrated supporting
detail about why 14th amendment should not be change and then close our assignment by
putting a conclusion.
The course, English 1010, is related to other gen-ed classes because I can applied what
i have learned in English 1010 class to general classes that basically require a writing
assignment. To be specific, humanity class require a ton of essay assignment. If i take the
humanity class, i would do good because i learned how to write an effective essay in English
1010 class.
General classes make students to get greater understanding of the world in which they
live. For instance, someone who has taken a general course about food nutrition knows what
food is good for his or her body, and what nutrients to consume while eating. Also, he or she
can plan a good diet.
English 1010 class was helpful. It is obvious that it would affect my college life where
I always have a paper with my better writing skills that was improved in English 1010 class. I
am thankful for my teacher and my group members.
