Every 12 minutes, a woman in America dies of breast cancer.

One out of every 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer during
their lifetime.

Launched during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Medline’s National Pink
Glove Dance Competition was created to increase awareness for early detection
and to honor the caregivers who care for patients, by getting people to stop and
watch…and maybe even dance a little.

Medline’s National Pink Glove Dance Video Competition became a viral,
YouTube® phenomenon, attracting 139 entrants from 40 states and Canada.

More than 17,000 people — from healthcare workers, students, and breast
cancer survivors, to fire fighters, patients and nursing home residents — were
featured in the videos.
•
More than half a million votes were cast and more than 1.1 million people viewed
all of the competing videos at www.pinkglovedance.com during the three-week
national competition.
•
Lexington Medical Center, in West Columbia, SC, won first place, with 61,054
votes.
•
Lexington’s video received more than 115,000 views.
•
Medline will donate $10,000 to Lexington Medical Center’s breast cancer charity
of choice — the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
•
Second place was awarded to Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY, with 57,914
votes. Medline will award a $5,000 on behalf of Highland Hospital to the Breast
Cancer Coalition of Rochester.

Victoria Hospital - Prince Albert Parkland Health Region in Prince Albert,
Saskatchewan, Canada, won third place, with 38,053 votes. On behalf of the
hospital, Medline will present Saskatoon Cancer Agency with a check for $2,000.

This is the first year Medline sponsored a national dance video competition. The
company created the original Pink Glove Dance video in November 2009 with
one hospital in Portland, Ore., which now has more than 13 million views on
YouTube®i In 2010, Medline’s Pink Glove Dance: The Sequel was released —
featuring more than 4,000 healthcare workers and breast cancer survivors from
11 hospitals and three nursing homes across the country.
