Here we are again- Anime Festival Orlando 16. We sincerely hope you enjoy
your time at the show. We’re proud to bring you a wide range of entertainment
this year, ranging from shows you remember as a kid to obscure tokusatsu
heros.
We’d like to thank the people who helped put on the show this year. To the
staff, who put in tireless hours bringing many different elements together. To
the volunteers, without whom there would be chaos. To the panelists, who
share their passions with us and keep us true to the motto “Created by fans, for
fans”. To the Wyndham, for letting us come back time and again.
And to you, the fans, we’d like to extend our sincerest appreciation for your
continued support and enthusiasm. It’s this support which allows us to bring

CHRISTOPHER KHAYMAN LEE
Christopher Khayman Lee was born in Teaneck, New Jersey, however as a
young child he grew up primarily in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He lived there
up until he was 17 years old, at which time he moved to Miami, Florida to
begin a modeling/acting career. For a couple years he booked
numerous modeling jobs and had small roles in commercials and smaller
films being made in the Miami/Dade area. His first major role in a film was
as the character Danny in Kickboxing Academy. The difficulty of playing a
leading role in the film was eased by the fact that he was starring along side his sister, Chyler.
12
CHRISOPHER KHAYMAN LEE (CONT.)...
Not long after filming Kickboxing Academy, Chris had an audition in Hollywood, Florida for Power
Rangers. He didn’t know it at the time, but the Saban Company was doing a nationwide search
for their next Red Ranger. Nine months after his initial audition, he heard back from Sabban for a
callback. It wasn’t long before he was signing a contract, and getting ready to move out to Los Angeles to
play Andros in Power Rangers in Space. Chris starred as the Red Ranger, Andros for the full season of Power
Rangers in Space.
At the end of the season, the cast was told that Power Rangers would be replacing them for a whole new
team. After finishing out the season, it was back to the audition grind, and Chris landed a onetime role on
7th Heaven, as Jack. At the time it seemed like just another role to play, however appearing on 7th Heaven
was what opened the door for him to land a role on Safe Harbor, which was being called the “sister” series
to 7th Heaven.
Unfortunately, Safe Harbor didn’t survive a whole season, and was cut short after only 10
episodes. He moved back to Los Angeles after the show was cancelled, and jumped back into the
audition grind again. There were small roles here and there, and in 2002 he was asked to reprise
his role of Andros for the Forever Red episode of Power Rangers Wild Force.
After Forever Red, Chris landed the role of Holly Boy in the 2003 film A Light in the Forest. This
would be one of his last actual acting experiences, however not too long after he would see what life on the
other side of the camera would be like.
Chris started working on a film called Miles Form Home in 2005. This was a daunting task, as he was
personally performing at least five or six different jobs for the film. He served as an Assistant Producer, 1st
AD, Gaffer, Best Boy, Boom Operator, and several other random positions here and there. The reward for
performing so many different jobs on a set was a wealth of knowledge on how making a film should and
should not go.
In 2008, Chris decided to head back to school, and enlisted at Westwood University. It was here
that he finally met Danny Cuevas, and the two soon discovered they worked well together as
writers. Both Chris and Danny left Westwood at roughly the same time, and decided to begin
working together on a comic book idea they kept talking about for years. With the two together,
they felt they had the writing department covered, and knew they would need an artist that could
capture their ideas as well as their own imaginations’ could. Enter Josh Pina, the third part of
West Coast Comics, the head artist, and a cornerstone for the group. With Josh’s artwork, and
Chris and Danny’s work as writers, they have been working hard to bring their main title, LA Crazy
Town, to as many people as possible.

The Story Begins….
“Fenrir!
Fenrir! Tell us a
story!” The chorus of young
voices rang out. Little hands
grabbed at the elder’s cloak.
The other adults could only
smile as they watched their
kid’s flock towards their
leader.
The old wolf could not help
but
smile,
not
even
attempting to suppress it.
These lively, excited children
would grow to lead his tribe.
They would be the ones to
hand down their history and
stories of the land. A history
that many had forgotten over
time.
“Very well. Come along children and sit.” The children followed his instructions, their eyes
wide and eager. “Now what story do I tell?” He mused, more to himself, but he was met with
suggestions and outcries from various voices. A hearty laugh rolled over his lips. A few
seconds later he raised his hand and quieted the bunch down.
As his eyes moved over the faces in his tiny audience, his eyes continued on past the camp
and towards the nearby mountains. There was a small light that could be seen even from
where they sat. The constant beacon of that was the nearby village. He let out a soft sigh.
“Kids, have I ever told you the story behind that light? The one right there?” They chorused
their “no’s” and it made Fenrir smile. This was their legacy.
“That is from the town of Orlandia. You see, their Festival of Light is approaching very soon.
The Festival is centuries old, but its origins are older still. Older than myself or my parents, or
my parents’ parents and so on. A thousand years ago, the valley within those mountains was
untouched by human hands. No villages rested there. Not even a single tent.
17
“But one day, a traveler from far, far away came to the northern pass. He then crossed
through into the valley. Crossing the pass took much of the day and, when he entered the
Wildwood, the sun was already low in the sky. The traveler moved deeper, hoping to find
shelter before a lack of light forced him to camp for the night. Just as the last rays of light
disappeared behind the ring of mountains, he came upon a clearing alight with fireflies. The
sight was so enchanting, he sat right where he stood, and made camp.
“As sleep began to take him, a rustling in the wood behind him jolted him awake. He leapt to
his feet, spun around, and came face to face with the largest bear he had ever seen! On all
fours, he still had to look up to the creature. Struck with fear, the traveler clenched his fists,
preparing to strike the first blow and make a run for it. But his hand was stayed by a voice.
The bear seemed to recognize this voice, and sat back on its haunches, ignoring the traveler.
So shocked was he, the traveler looked quickly for the source of the voice.
“When he turned about, he found her, standing in the glade, fireflies dancing about her. The
spirit of winter, she who brought the cold and pressed it back again; Yuki-Onna. A soft light
enshrouded her, like the glow of moonlight. She spoke again, and the traveler answered.
“Lao was his name, and he was a humble pilgrim. He traveled not for a destination, but to find
his path, whatever it might be. He asked the spirit about where he was, and how it was the
bear was so tamed. But of course we know you cannot tame such a creature. Only give it little
reason to fear you. And Yuki-Onna told Lao as much. The spirit of the valley welcomed him to
rest, but warned him to be cautious, as he was the first man to come to the valley, and the
other animals would be curious.
“So intrigued by such a peaceful and tranquil place, Lao stayed, and with her blessing,
explored the valley with Yuki-Onna. His light hearted and curious ways were endearing to the
spirit, and the two became friends. She aided Lao in building a home in the northern glade,
without harming the forest. She showed him which plants he might eat, and he grew
comfortable. But the Spirit of Winter was not one to remain in a place long. She would
disappear for days, weeks, and Lao grew lonely.
“He left the valley, and made his way to a small village north and west, where he met a young
woman that would later become his wife. The two returned to the glade nestled in the valley,
and began to cultivate a small garden. Yuki-Onna appeared to the couple, and welcomed her
friend’s wife. Life, for Lao, seemed to return to the way it had been, and he grew content.
Until his wife became pregnant.”

Cosplay Contest Information
Cosplay is an important aspect of the anime community, even more so now that it has become
more mainstream and, therefore, more popular. The more popular it becomes, the more com
petitive, and in many cases, the more impressive.
We at Anime Festival Orlando are planning to make this year’s cosplay contest bigger and
better than ever. The Happy Happy Cosplay Go Go Go Cosplay Contest has always been a sta
ple of our convention, and we want to give back to those who participate in making it such a
great event.
We are bringing in some of the most talented cosplayers around to help us judge the cos
tumes and skits. We will be showcasing their talents on our website before the convention so
the cosplay contestants will know exactly who is judging their work. We are very excited to be
upping the ante, and that’s not even the biggest announcement this year!
The winner of the Happy Happy Cosplay Go Go Go Cosplay Contest at AFO 2015 will win $1000 cash!
Please see the Cosplay Registratin Booth to ask for registration and contest information.
