Harmony High School VITAL STATISTICS Harmony High School’s total population is 1,860 students, with a senior class of 408. HHS was established in August 2004. The school year is organized into two semesters, with 7 class periods meeting 51 minutes per day, five days a week. The Faculty is comprised of 111 teachers, with 31.5% holding a master’s degree or higher. HHS has increased its grade since opening, receiving a “A” the last two years. The 2012 Graduating Class was awarded approximately $15 million in scholarships. HHS offers 18 AP Courses and our students have the option to take numerous courses at Valencia College for dual enrollment. Class rank is computed throughout the second semester of the Senior year, using all eight semesters using the Grade Point Average from all credit-earning courses taken. Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment (DE) classes receive 1 honors point for GPA calculation. Honors courses were awarded 1 honors point through 2008-2009. Starting 2010, honors courses will receive .5 bonus points. Students must earn 24 credits in grades 9-12 and earn a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 grade point scale. The following specific credits are required for a high school diploma. Students are also required to pass the Reading and Math sections on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) and Algebra I, or equivalent courses.
