Monday, January 12: time given to copy planner; Introduce and assign groups a big idea from the
“Analysis & Interpretation Grid for ‘Harrison Bergeron’ ” define and find examples of within the
text-be prepared to present tomorrow
HM- WW 9E due Wednesday, 01/14; Test on Friday, 01/16; complete assigned portion of grid IF
wasn’t completed in the time allotted during class; read from book for fun
Tuesday, January 13: copy root card 46-ignis-L-fire; students presented big idea definition and
textual examples from grid to the class to copy (students have ALL BI definitions & text examples
filled in); remaining class time was spent explaining WW9 synonym and antonym sheet-due
Thursday
HM- bring colored pencils/crayons, markers tomorrow; reminder WW9E due tomorrow
Wednesday, January 14: copy root card 47-Vulcanus-god of fire; WW9 E due; using presented
information, students began interpreting Vonnegut’s message for each big idea- “Analysis &
Interpretation Grid for ‘Harrison Bergeron’ ”
HM- WW9 synonym and antonym sheet and read from your “Book for Fun” (read by/due January
29th)
Thursday, January 15: copy root card 48-hydros-G-water (test next week over roots 37-48);
correct WW9 synonym and antonym sheet (you will see these words on your WW test tomorrow);
continue-“Analysis & Interpretation Grid for ‘Harrison Bergeron’ ” -due Tuesday
HM- “Analysis & Interpretation Grid for ‘Harrison Bergeron’ ” & study your WW9 words for test
tomorrow
Friday, January 16: WW9 vocabulary test; work on “Analysis & Interpretation Grid for ‘Harrison
Bergeron’ ” (due Tuesday) when done with test; WW10 assigned and due dates given (cards due
Tuesday, 01/20, A-D due Thursday, 01/22, E due Wednesday, 01/28, and test on Friday, 01/30)
