Residency Requirement in the major: Five upper-division courses required for the major must be completed successfully at UCI.

Art History 190W - Practicum for Majors
AH 190W should be taken as early as possible in the junior or senior year, after
successfully completing UCI’s lower-division writing requirement.

Prerequisite: lower-division writing*
*If you completed lower-division writing at another school and are unable to register for Art History 190W, please submit a Course Authorization Request on the Humanities Undergraduate website (www.humanities.uci.edu/undergrad).

Art History 198 - Proseminar in Art History (taken twice with different topics)

NOTE: It is strongly recommended that students complete Art History 190(W) before taking Art History 198.
