NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
Dear Ocean Knoll Families,
Many good things continue to take place here at OK! Thanks to Beth
Granger, an OK parent, for submitting and receiving a grant from the City
of Encinitas and Mizel Family Foundation. This grant will allow our first
through sixth grade students to participate in on Valise project offered by
the Lux Art Institute. This program will take place from OctoberDecember. Way to go OK!
OK is thrilled to continue the partnership with UCSD for this school year.
With the help of a National Science Foundation grant, UCSD graduate
students will share their knowledge and expertise with 3rd-6th grade
students via creative hand-on science lessons. This grant also allows UCSD
to provide teachers with supplies to enhance their teaching of science, such
as microscopes, video cameras, and even help with funding field trips.
It is time again for the PTA Reflections Program! This year’s theme is
”Diversity Means…” This is an awesome opportunity for students to show
their talents in the areas of dance choreography, photography, film
production, musical composition, literature, and visual arts. All entries must
be submitted no later Friday, November 4. This is a great fall break
project for ALL students! It would be great to have many more entries
submitted this year! Thanks to the PTA for supporting this program and
awarding a cash prize to the top three winners.

Message from Ocean Knoll PTA:
CALLING ALL PARENTS!
Please come to the PTA Association meeting Thursday, September 22 at
6:30pm in the MPR. All parents are encouraged to come and see what their
children are learning in our new programs and TLP. It is your chance to
meet these great teachers and see a presentation of their programs. Also,
Mrs. Lopez will be presenting and discussing the 2010-11 school year STAR
test results.
