SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO
~ Shaped by Nature ~
S
culpted by glaciers and shaped by nature, Southwestern Ontario is rich in history, culture, and charm. Its diversity attracts families
to their attractions connecting people with the environment. The Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory, a tropical garden paradise,
features more than 1000 free-flying butterflies and many other exotic species to unearth. Looking for a unique experience and something
that is out of the ordinary? Take in the outstanding views of the bay and marsh from the zip lines, a canopy tour or from a swinging
suspension bridge at Long Point Eco Adventure. For history enthusiasts, the Waterloo Region Museum, the largest community museum
in Ontario, tells the story of the Waterloo Region going as far back as 1914! Beer buffs can sample gourmet craft beers at the Walkerville
Brewing Co., recently named Canadian Brewery of the Year, and snack on fresh, straight-out-of-the-oven pretzels. Wine aficionados are in
luck as this is one of the oldest wine regions of Ontario allowing them to sip and savour red and white wines from the Burning Kiln Winery
in beautiful Norfolk County!
THEMUSEUM
From Andy Warhol and Jane Goodall to Titanic and Yoko Ono, THEMUSEUM is Kitchener’s cultural destination. Recognized for showcasing
some of the most relevant exhibitions, this attraction features five floors and 55,000 square feet of interactive exhibitions.
Grand River Dinner Cruises

Ganaraska River Fish Migration
Every spring and fall, the Ganaraska River
in Port Hope becomes an exceptional place
to visit. In April huge trout begin their annual migration up river from Lake Ontario
to their spawning grounds. The river is
thick with these amazing voyagers as they
battle rapids and even a dam known as the
Ganaraska Fishway, where volunteers have
built a fish ladder to assist with their ascent! Just when you think the excitement
is over, it starts up all over again with the
Chinook salmon in early September.

DID YOU KNOW?
Georgian Bay is separated from
the rest of Lake Huron by the
Bruce Peninsula to the west and
Manitoulin Island to the north.
Though it was decided in the
1800s that it should be part of
Lake Huron, it is often referred
to as the sixth Great Lake.
Come play in Ontario's beloved "cottage
country" filled with sparkling lakes,
dense forests and the rugged beauty
of the Canadian Shield. Tee up on a challenging golf course. Combine a cruise
with exploring history. Catch remarkable
stage productions at local summer
theatres. Take part in a wolf howl.
Paddle past spectacular scenery.
Outdoor enthusiasts will be delighted
by two national parks, one of which is
a marine park with fantastic diving opportunities. Discover the beauty and
diversity of the picturesque 30,000
Islands - a necklace of gems set in a
water playground. Be awed by nature's
many wonders in Algonquin Provincial
Park - Ontario's oldest and most famous
park where you can stay in a resort, and
be witness to amazing wildlife. Endless
beaches, hiking, biking and skiing trails
and unique adventure parks will keep
kids entertained. Historic sites, aboriginal heritage villages, museums and
galleries offer insight into this area’s
past. Lively night life, gaming and live
entertainment offers fun day and night.
Stroll on seemingly endless beaches,
dive into waters holding centuries of
secrets and marvel at geological
wonders. Hike over rugged terrain,
celebrate in a charming ski town (even
in summer!), and be spellbound by the
surrounding natural beauty as you
discover this amazing region.

NORTHERN ONTARIO
~ Welcoming Wilderness ~
T
he residents of the Northern Ontario region will tell you, they are bigger than Texas, wilder than the west and more welcoming than a
fire in October, like no place else! Famous for its spectacular fishing with Lake Superior in their backyard, the Algoma Country engages
with some of the most beautiful scenery in Canada. The Agawa Canyon Tour Train winds through the pristine wilderness all the way to
Sault Ste. Marie where one can spend extra time exploring the numerous attractions, dining and retail opportunities. Sudbury’s Science
North and Dynamic Earth offer year-round exhibits that will raise your sense of wonder and stimulate your mind. Once here, be sure to visit
the world’s largest Steel Skeleton Dragon at 22 feet long by 18 feet high at Dinosaur Valley Mini Golf. Time travel back in history at Fort
William Historic Park - devoted to re-creating the days of the North West Company and the Canadian fur trade. Recognized as one of the
Top Ten Attractions in Canada and one of the world’s most impressive historic sites, the site is outfitted with over 42 era buildings allowing
visitors to go back in time to 1815.
Bushplane Heritage
The history of Canada’s bushplanes and Forest Fire Management equipment is preserved and proudly displayed in the Canadian
Bushplane Heritage Centre. This 64,000 sq. ft. hanger in Sault Ste. Marie celebrates the achievements of the aviation and forest fire
fighting pioneers of Canada.
Science North
Measure up against Robert Wadlow, the world’s tallest man at
8’ 11” is part of The Science of Ripley’s Believe It or Not!® exhibit now
showing at Science North in Sudbury. Discover the Marvel at the intricate
micro-sculptures so small, they fit in the eye of a needle! Crawl through
a life-size model of the prehistoric snake, Titanaboa, see a calf with two
faces, a megalodon shark jaw, a Rolls Royce made of matchsticks, and a
portrait of Justin Bieber made of candy!

Friendly hosts, gourmet meals

B&Bs often provide intriguing

Joy and Quinten, who operate the

making their guests feel at home is
what it’s all about. “We’re not big on
