c October 10, 2011 Look! Up in the sky! It's Stink Moody. When Stink found out Pluto flunked the planet test for being too shrimpy, he had no choice but to take a stand for the planets (and little people) everywhere. This "star" book is Stink: Solar System Hero by Megan McDonald. Stink lives with his mom, dad, and sister, Judy, who we have met in her own books. It starts off as a normal day. Stink woke up ready to turn in his solar system project. "What's that?" Stink asked. "A Venus Fly trap made out of ABC gum," Judy said. This is one of the many ra~~~kh~s with his sister, classmates, and friends. He is always asking questions that seem to annoy everybody else. But to Stink, he is just askingwhatsomethingis. This bookis funn~ut als~ation;;V1t :ISl:t- best! lM. is humor.atits Throughout the story we get to laugh at Stink take on his classmate, Riley, a girl who knows everything. The class is studying planets and Stink has to take a test about all eight. He doesn't know anything and asks his sister to help him study but she tells him no. So when Stink takes the test and fails, he is upset. He doesn't get how a planet isn't a planet anymore and so begins Stink's campaign to keep Pluto a planet. This story is funny with Stink and his team going against Riley and her team as they try to prove opposite theories. There is friendly, name-calling, and facts shared about Pluto. Stink and his classmates also were creative in trying to get the other kids to agree with him about Pluto deserving to be a planet. *\\~~ (ll.o..d.er This story was tellinc1Volhthat i~doesn't matter how tall or short you are.
