2. Develop an individualized antibiotic regimen for patient with enterococcus faecalis infective endocarditis with a high
level of aminoglycoside resistance
3. Review the treatment options of MAC therapy for HIV patients on antiretroviral therapy
4. Explore the common drug interactions associated with MAC therapy and antiretroviral therapy and recommend a
treatment option that will minimize drug toxicity and maintain patient adherence

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MODERATORS OF POSTER PRESENTATIONS
General Information
• Poster session will take place Monday, May 5, 2015 in the Red Room.
• Poster Review Rounds will be 5:00 – 6:00 pm; posters will be open to all conference attendees from 6:00
– 7:00 pm
• Poster set-up begins at 4:30 pm. Only moderators and presenters will be permitted into the ballroom at
that time for poster set-up
Poster Review Rounds
• Posters will be arranged in groups of 7 or 8, based on practice area.
• Poster Review Rounds consists of each resident presenting a 5 minute overview of their poster to the
moderator and other residents in their group.
• At the end of Poster Review Rounds, each group member will complete an evaluation form of the other
residents in their group.
• Preceptors and residents not presenting posters are also welcome to participate in Poster Review Rounds.
Moderators
• Familiarize yourself with the abstracts for posters you are moderating
• Arrive 15 minutes before Poster Review Rounds begin
• Gather the 7 – 8 presenters, and at 5:05 pm, begin presentations at a poster that will not interfere with
other group presentations
• Review each poster in your group, allowing 5 minutes for each presentation.
• Questions and answers should be limited to less than 2 minutes to allow for review of all presenters
within the time allotted
• Ensure that each group member completes an evaluation form for each poster
• Give the completed evaluations to the appropriate residents
Formatting guidelines for posters
• Objective(s)/purpose of the study or project
• Methods used in the study or project
• Results of the study or project
• Conclusions/evaluation of the study or project
Posters will be evaluated on the following:
• Visual: Is overall appearance of poster professional? Does content support (or detract) from poster? Are
data clear, succinct, and understandable?
• Methods: How well does design of the study address the research question? Are statistics appropriate?
• Results: Are results adequately expressed? Are tables/figures fully utilized to represent data?
• Conclusion: How well are conclusions supported by study results?
• Presentation: Does resident convey mastery of content? Provoke thoughtful questions?
• Impact: How novel is this research? Relevance to pharmacy practice or area of study?

Each presentation is scheduled to last a total of 20 minutes. This time allotment includes the presentation (12 minutes),
questions and answers (3 minutes), and evaluation (5 minutes).

responsibilities. Candidates must have a NYS Pharmacist license and a PharmD. Prior
experience in pediatrics and completion of a PGY-1 residency are preferred.
