Research Interests The convergence of the Internet and the mobile communications is the next revolutions. Further, the natural Quality of Service (QoS) on the mobile networks is often very poor compared with the fixed networks. Although, introducing QoS into the Internet is an active research area, to date much development has ignored the problems that mobility and wireless could cause. Therefore, my research areas mainly fall into two categories: wireless computer networks and Internet/wireless QoS. • Wireless Computer Networks: – 2.5G/3G/4G wireless systems. – Real Time Protocols for Multimedia Applications. – Ad Hoc Networks, wireless LAN, and cellular networks. – Wireless network/System Architectures. – Multihop wireless LAN, and cellular networks. – TCP over Wireless Links. – MAC and Routing protocols. – Mobility Management and Mobile IP. • Internet and Wireless QoS: – Next-generation Internet. – Differentiated service, QoS differentiation. – QoS Routing Protocols. – QoS MAC protocols. – QoS Model/Framework for Ad Hoc Networks and 3G/4G Wireless Systems. – End-to-end QoS provisioning. – Wireless Network/System architectures for QoS supports. – RSVP and Mobile RSRV (MRSVP). – MPLS, HMPLS and Traffic Engineering.
