INTRODUCTION
1.1
Preamble
Black Trap is base of all types of Building works, Construction of Road,
Construction of Cement Concrete road, The need of Stone in all fields
are very essential as it is a compulsory material for all types of
construction, and Industries fields. Stone Mines are providing
employments to the local Labour in Rural area, as the labour of rural
area have no any work for labour, They are Unemployed, Thus this
existing
mine is providing work to many labours and it is a good
employment.

Executive Summary
Maruti Metals is a Proposed mine, as the demand of Black Trap
in all
industries which contains foundry. This project is providing and fulfil
some demands of carbonaceous shale in around area. About 01-7857 hectare of land is under possession of Maruti Metals At, Village :
Degam, Taluka : Chikhli, Dist : Navsari.
As per the statuary obligation this project needs environmental
clearance from department of Environment and forest dept. (GPCB)
Gujarat. For grant of lease and to start quarrying operations
(production) Accordingly project proponent has submitted form 1, prefeasibility report and copy of Approval letter from department of mines
and geology Gujarat, to the state level environmental assessment
authority of Gujarat constituted by MOEF, GOI for issuing environmental
clearance, as per EIA, September 14.2006 notification.

3.2 Brief description of nature of the project :
It is a Black Stone Quarrying, it contains black stone concrete which is
used in building construction and construction of infrastructures and
road, railways etc.
3.3
Demand - Supply Gap :
As black trap is used as raw material in construction of building and
infrastructure projects, the demand of black trap is increasing day by
day. In past, demand was not too much but now a days due to rapid
industrialization and urbanization its demand increasing with pace of
time. At present, demand of black trap is more than the supply.
3.4
Imports vs. Indigenous Production :
In Navsari of Gujarat, a number of Black Trap mines are there. There is
abundance of Black Trap in the area; it had become a major source of
economy in the area/region.
3.5
Export Possibility :
3.6
Domestic / Export Markets :
N.A.
Black Trap produced is used locally as well as circulated in nearby area.
So clearly there is a huge market of Black Trap in the domestic area.
3.7
Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) due to the project :
4
By this mining project of Black Trap in the area, peoples will get
employment, The project will directly generate the employment for the
local people and indirectly for the others. Also the marketing of the
product will generate the employment for peoples. By this project,
approximately Skilled labours-3 and Unskillled-8 to 10 labours will be on
project site.

Details of alternate sites, considered and the basis of selecting the
existing site, particularly the environmental considerations gone
into should be highlighted : No alternative site was examined,
because this is a proposed mine manufacturing unit.
4.4
Size or magnitude of operation : B category semi mechanized.
The existing capacity / year will be 1,00,000 TPA. Total area of mining
lease is 01-78-57 Ha. The mining operation will be @ 1,00,000 Tonne

materials And finished products :
TPA will be about 1,00,000 and this raw material will be produced by
project proponent from the mine allotted by Govt. and raw materials and
final products are transported by trolly and tractors.
4.7
Resource optimization / recycling and reuse envisaged in the
project. If any, should be briefly outlined :
Resources are exploited optimistically, waste dumps will be reused for
land refills.
4.8
Availability of water its source, Energy/power requirement and
source should be given :
Total water requirement in the mine will be about 3.0 KLD for drinking &
domestic use, dust suppression and plantation. Drinking water will be
brought by water tanker from nearby village Degam. Diesel will be used
in dumpers and tractors.
Nearby village Degam is well electrified.
