Mission Statement
The mission of Texas Chiropractic College is to provide qualified students a patient-centered educational program leading
to the Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. The curriculum promotes the development of the student’s attitudes, knowledge,
and skills required of a chiropractor serving the public as a primary care physician. Operating within the highest levels of
professionalism, the College is also committed to serving the needs of the students, the profession and the public through
leadership, scholarship, research, patient care and service activities in the field of chiropractic.
At A Glance
• Established 1908 in San Antonio, Texas by John N. Stone,
D.C.; relocated to Pasadena, Texas in 1965.
• Accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education since
1971 (reaffirmed in 2011).
• Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and
Schools since 1984 (reaffirmed in 2009).
• Participant in the Veterans’ Administration’s Yellow Ribbon
Program.
• Awards the Doctor of Chiropractic degree and the
Bachelor of Science degree in human biology.
• Launched dual-degree programs with UH-Clear Lake,
providing TCC students opportunity to earn the Master
of Science degrees in fitness & human performance or
biology.
• Partnered with San Jacinto College Massage Therapy Program, providing clinic space at TCC’s Moody Health Center.

Clinic Experience
Percent of entering class having earned at least a bachelor
degree at time of matriculation:
• The Moody Health Center provides a foundation for the
final year-long clinic experience for TCC students. It is a
modern outpatient care facility that provides patients with
their choice of complementary therapies in conjunction
with traditional primary care. The MHC provides care for
more than 20,000 patients a year.

Research
• The research focus of TCC is on how doctors of
chiropractic contribute to the overall health and wellness
of their patients through the chiropractic adjustment,
physiological therapeutics and functional biomechanics,
as well as nutrition, therapeutic exercise and lifestyle
modification.
• 46% of ranked faculty members are involved in
publication, presentations or scholarly work.
• There are multiple faculty members with graduatelevel expertise in public or community health, human
biomechanics and sports performance active.
• TCC has a biomechanics laboratory with force plates
and the ability to video capture and analyze performancebased biomechanical movements.
• Each year, TCC researchers present at national and
international conferences such as the American College
of Sports Medicine and the American Public Health
Association, and publish in national and international
medical and health care journals.
• At the 2013 ACC-RAC meetings, 18 TCC faculty
members were part of 10 platform presentations, four
poster presentations and a clinical workshop. Additionally,
nine TCC students were co-authors of four of the platform
presentations and two of the poster presentations.
• Students at TCC are actively engaging in research
activities. Three students presented at national conferences
in November 2012, and two students presented at the
2013 International Conference on Sports Medicine and
Exercise Science in Malaga, Spain in November 2013.

Center.
