Understanding the nursing process is crucial when you are providing care for your
patients. The nursing process involves collecting data from your client, identifying actual
or potential client problems, developing a plan to resolve the problems, putting your plan
in to action, and evaluating your client and/or plan for effectiveness.
The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate an understanding of the nursing process
by developing a simple care plan for a fictional client/patient or students may also base
their care plan upon actual experiences. The student may chose from the following list of
common problems:








Seasonal allergies (hay fever)
Headaches
Back pain
Yeast Infections
Gastrointestinal Flu
Insomnia
Depression
Constipation








Ear Infection
Heartburn
Morning Sickness
Sunburn
Skin Abrasion
Tooth ache
Sprain
Nose Bleed
The care plan must contain a minimum of two entries in all steps of the nursing process
which includes the following:
 Assessment
 Diagnosis
 Planning and Implementation
 Evaluation
