• Signal Processing R &D for an aircraft cabin comfort study involving several universities and
EMBRAER (Brazilian aeronautic industry). Worked on the design and implementation of the
vibroacoustic system of a full-sized aircraft cabin simulator.
• Contributions included novel equalization techniques, acoustical design, customized sensing
solutions, and statistical analyses leading to a passenger comfort model.

SVD-based MIMO equalizer. Novel offline acoustic MIMO equalization technique for
environments with high correlation among sensors and/or actuators.
AFTBX. A MATLAB toolbox that provides an intuitive interface to vectorized adaptive
algorithms that are up to 10 times faster than typical implementations (website).
PHP framework for exercise correction. A MATLAB/PHP solution to automatically correct
programming exercises and give instantaneous feedback to students about their work.
Implemented to be used in Stochastic Processes undergraduate classes.
Hardware
Wireless Power Transfer Development of a Qi -compliant wireless power transfer system.
Supported by an IEEE Standards Education Committee grant.
MEMS accelerometers interface. Interfacing MEMS sensors with commercial audio
preamplifiers using phantom power. Reduces up to five times the sensing solution cost.
Nondestructive inspection for Saint-Gobain. Production line ultrasound crack detection
system to avoid machine damages and reduce maintenance breaks.
