They also brought some of their own, personal WWI artefacts handed down from their own family members who served in the war. The Historical Society is looking for more local stories and connections with those who served for next year’s centenary of Gallipoli. Contact the school or the Gunning Historical Society if you would like to share your family history. Sport at Tirranna Tomorrow, Friday 21 March we will again travel to Tirranna for athletics practice. This will be our last chance to have a go at high jump, long jump, discus and shot put before the big day! Canteen This Friday canteen will be a meatball sub meal deal. Please complete the attached order form and return it on Friday. P&C The first P&C meeting for the year will be at 2pm on Tuesday 25 March. We would love to have as many parents there as possible. Athletics Carnival The Goulburn Community of Small Schools carnival will be held at Hudson Park on Friday 28 March. Please return the permission note to the school office by Friday 21 March. Collector P&C will be catering for lunch. Please complete the attached order form and return to school on Monday so that order numbers can be sent to them by Tuesday. Indonesian Embassy Visit As part of our study of Indonesia, on Thursday April 3 we will travel to Canberra to visit the Indonesian embassy and cultural museum. We will stop at an Indonesian restaurant on the way home for lunch. There will be more details about the day and a permission note in next week’s newsletter. It is possible we may not be back to school until 3.30pm on this day. Goulburn East Public School every Friday. The cost and transport will be discussed at next week’s P&C meeting. School Improvement The students have been learning about persuasive writing techniques. Some of them have put their skills to the test by writing to me with some suggestions for school improvement. Firstly, you could catch yabbies. Secondly, you can get a yabby trap. Thirdly, you could eat them. Easter Hat Parade On Thursday 10 April we will hold our Easter Hat Parade and end of term assembly. Parents, grandparents and friends are invited to join us to make hats from scratch starting at midday, using materials provided by the school. No hats are to be made at home! We will parade the hats and have our end of term assembly from 2pm. If we are lucky, the Easter bunny might even pay us a visit so that we can have an egg hunt before we go home. farming can learn. Applications should be made to the school and once approved they will be forwarded to the ASK committee.
