Oklahoma City have also seen bookings exceed 2012 totals already
Primed with the latest research from its booking data and personal insights from its network of regional
account managers, TravelCube heads to Top Resa (24-27 September 2013) in Paris, France. The global
specialist for booking of hotels and destination services online attends to help French travel agents sell the
latest holidays to their customers.
The domestic destination remains the most popular for French travel agents, but thanks to one of the biggest
networks on the planet, TravelCube offers inventory in practically every part of the world. After France, the
United States, Italy, the UK and Spain remain the most popular destinations booked on www.TravelCube.fr.
However, and although numbers are smaller, Far East destinations are proving increasingly popular after the
success of TravelCube’s Destination Asia campaign last year. Thailand’s increasing popularity – up 7% on
the whole of 2012 – has seen it edge Germany out of the top ten of France’s travel hotspots. Just eight
months into the year and Japan is already enjoying a 33% increase in the number of French travellers, while
Malaysia and Vietnam have seen rises of 21% and 20% respectively.
Christophe Van Damme, TravelCube’s country manager for France, says: “Whether it’s a short stay or a
longer trip, TravelCube draws on years of experience in finding all kinds of accommodation, city tours and
experiences in all parts of the world to inspire travel agents and consultants. Our worldwide reach and
decades of travel expertise means we can act quickly to secure allocations throughout the year, to negotiate
attractive – and free – cancellation terms, as well as special offers, promotions and competitive rates.”
Christophe believes that with so much choice today it can be difficult for agents to know what’s best for their
business. With so much change and uncertainty in the world, minimising risk is increasingly important to
them. Fortunately, TravelCube is backed by the security and stability of Kuoni’s hundred-year heritage, while
dedicated account managers give agents added value and set TravelCube apart with their personalised
service. “The travel industry knows they can rely on our global influence, our thorough understanding of
destinations, and the local expertise and support we give their business. Our local professionals understand
what works best for clients’ particular business needs and put their knowledge of the world’s travellers and
booking trends to work for them,” Christophe adds.
Thanks to the global contracting power of its parent company GTA, TravelCube has added over 550 new
properties across 43 of America’s states. They range from glamorous hotels on the shores of Palm Beach to
the idyllic tropical islands of Maui and Kauai in Hawaii, from the landscapes of the Grand Canyon at
Yellowstone National Park – for those who love adventure – to the major American cities including
Washington, San Francisco, Chicago or San Diego. These add to TravelCube’s already-popular city
hotspots of New York, Orlando and Los Angeles.

The USA is increasingly popular for the French traveller. Not surprisingly, Louisiana (or ‘New France’)
continues to see a steady rise in visitors with Lafayette and New Orleans particularly popular. However,
TravelCube has also sold 17% more room nights in Wyoming as travellers continue to be drawn by
Yellowstone National Park and the history of William ‘Buffalo Bill’ Cody. One of America’s greatest
attractions, Mount Rushmore, is no doubt behind the continued increase in room nights booked in Rapid
City, South Dakota up a further 47% after a similar increase in 2012.
Elsewhere room nights have more than doubled to Maryland, “America in Miniature”, and its natural
landscapes of Chesapeake Bay, as well as sandy dunes, marshlands with bald cypress, rolling hills
of oak forests and pine groves in its mountains. Visits to South Carolina have increased nearly seven-fold
drawn by the state’s lakes, rivers, waterfalls and white water, while Portland (OR), Chicago (IL) and
Oklahoma City have also seen bookings exceed 2012 totals already.
