Uganda the pearl of Africa
Uganda called the “pearl of Africa”
teems with wildlife, the beautiful waters of Lake Victoria and fertile soil.
Yet, this rich land harbors a dark history. The brutal dictatorship of Idi
Amin, poverty, addiction, border
strife, malaria and AIDS has ravaged
life in Uganda, especially the lives of
children.

WHO WE ARE
The mission of the Love and Care Family
International is to provide a loving home,
education, food and spiritual nourishment to abandoned and orphaned children in Uganda. Christians from several
churches in the U.S. are joining with
Christians in Uganda to bring hope to
these at risk children.
Through the vision and outstanding leadership of Dr. Sylvia Tamusuza 24 children receive the benefits of living in a
family instead of the streets. The Love
and Care Family International is a grassroots partnership between caring Christians to answer God’s call to serve the
young and vulnerable.
Love and Care Family International offers two
sponsorship programs. 1). The Miriam Duggan
Home that provides shelter, food, education
and spiritual nurture for children by creating a
home modeled on the traditional Ugandan
extended Family. 2). The Oliva Kinship Program places
orphaned
children in
loving Christian families
by providing
education fees
and other
resources that
allow poorer
families to

Situated on beautiful acreage outside of Kampala the new Miriam Duggan Home and community center will provide not only a home to
the children but also a place for both the children and community to receive training in occupational skills as well as immunization clinics,
Bible studies and basic health instruction.
