SALARY £30,000 - £35,000 pa POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION REPORTS TO Director of Quality and Curriculum Maintaining and developing our learning technologies solutions including our e-Learning offer and providing learning technologies customer support. RESPONSIBLE FOR Responsible for the following staff: 1 x e-Learning Developer 1 x Instructional Designer 2 x Learning Technologies Administrator WORKS IN CONJUNCTION WITH Wider Quality and Curriculum team, LCG colleagues plus suppliers, partners and customers BUDGET ACCOUNTABILITY TBC OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB Controlled by the H.R. Dept April 2015 V0.1 The successful candidate will need to be customer focused and results orientated along with being a creative, self-motivated and innovative thinker. To ensure support is provided to existing, new and potential customers using or considering using our learning technologies platforms (e-Assessor and/or Learning@College) along with any other learning technology solutions that Learning Curve develop/provide to our customers (both internal and external). To ensure tasks relating to our learning technologies and other learning technologies solutions that arise from line manager, other colleagues and customers are completed to required timescales and budget. The successful candidate will need to build strong relationships with key stakeholders including external and internal customer, contracted staff, Subject Matter Experts and suppliers to ensure Learning Curve Group technology solutions/ platforms and learning resources are maintained and developed to provide our customers and their learners with the best learning experience that reflects best practice, latest technology developments, Government agendas (as appropriate) along with being visually engaging and appropriate for the type of qualifications / learning and target audience. The successful candidate will manage and co-ordinate the delivery of learning technology solutions including e-Learning assets. Identifying and specifying the requirement, engaging and managing suppliers to ensure project deliverables are of a high standard and delivered on time and to budget. Communication with non-technical clients is essential, employing solid issue resolution skills to end-user service requests. The successful candidate will ensure that day-to-day remote support for our learning technologies platforms customers along with any other group learning technology solutions is provided and including on customers sites as required. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Controlled by the H.R. Dept April 2015 V0.1 Manage the Learning Technologies team i.e. e-Learning Developer, Instructional Designer and Learning Technologies Administrator/s, their workload and tasks Effective working with contractor staff, suppliers and customers (both internal and external) Manage and maintain existing LCG learning technology solutions working with contracted staff, suppliers and colleagues Ownership and management of projects to create and implementation new LCG learning technology solutions working with contracted staff, suppliers and colleagues Manage and maintain existing e-Learning courses to meet our brand standards and compatibility with our e-Learning platforms Manage the development of new e-Learning courses to meet our brand standards and compatibility with our learning technologies platforms including e-book creation Ownership and management of projects to create and implementation new eLearning solutions including new e-learning assets aimed at range of different audiences ensuring learning resources are fully accessible and engaging to the learner Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts and other experts representing the different sectors of training and learning technology solutions Day to day management of our learning technologies platform including managing qualification/course uploading for our learning technologies platforms Day to day management of any new LCG learning technology solutions that are developed Ensuring e-Learning courses/assets are developed under strict change control with thorough testing before release to the live environment Database input and manipulation Ensuring occasional onsite support and training for our learning technologies platforms customers along with other learning technology solutions is provided Presentation and training to colleagues in all aspects of creating e-Learning courses to ensure our brand standards and compatibility requirements with our eLearning platforms are met Promoting and recommending features of the software, recording and making recommendations based on staff and client feedback Undertake duties commensurate with the role of Learning Technologies Manager KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED Criteria Essential Controlled by the H.R. Dept Desirable April 2015 V0.1 Knowledge Knowledge of or exposure to LMS systems and e-Learning developments in the wider market Knowledge of or exposure to converting Subject Matter Experts written content into innovative, attractive eLearning courses Experience with managing learning technology solutions e.g. LMS systems Experience with managing eLearning development, instructional or media design Ability to work autonomously with excellent prioritisation skills and self-motivation Excellent customer service skills and a desire to solve client issues Proven ability of planning, time management and documentation skills Experience of the production process e.g. graphic manipulation Experience of developing learning technology solutions Controlled by the H.R. Dept Working knowledge of the delivery of electronic training ideally in the FE sector Understanding of the SCORM compliance standards April 2015 V0.1 Skills Experience with managing eLearning development, instructional or media design Experience with managing learning technology solutions Ability to work autonomously with excellent prioritisation skills and self-motivation Excellent customer service skills and a desire to solve client issues Proven ability of planning, time management and documentation skills Experience of the production process e.g. graphic manipulation Experience of developing learning technology solutions Qualification s& Experience Experience of developing eLearning courses Experience of working with “non-technical” colleagues and customers and meeting their needs Experience with customer service including resolving customer issues Project management training Experience of team management Audio / video capturing, editing and embedding Adobe Captivate 5.5 and/or others for the production of learning assets Exposure to basic coding of websites Advanced excel and database skills a major advantage Experience of developing learning technology solutions Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (or similar) and experience with databases Formal qualifications or evidence of training in Learning Technology would be an advantage Certificate or similar in multimedia, instructional, elearning or related design.
