Win for KCMG and the LMP2 title for SMP Racing!
The last round of the FIA World Endurance Championship on 30 November in São Paulo wowed some
55,000 spectators with spectacular drama. Porsche
clinched its first win of the season here and Toyota
bagged the World Champion crown, the race finishing
with the safety car in place after the impressive accident suffered by unharmed Mark Webber.
In LMP2, Motul partnered teams SMP Racing and
KCMG, the former being second in the provisional
standings on arriving in Brazil, behind G-Drive Racing. The car driven by Bradley, Howson and Impe-
ratori (KCMG) led the race from the start and scraped
through a mid-race incident to finish on the highest
step of the podium in its category.
Luck did not side with team G-Drive Racing, whose
car suffered an accident in the first part of the race.
This retirement made things easier for SMP Racing
whose race was not straightforward however, with an
off for car #37, while #27 pitted for brake problems.

The team managed to get it to set off again, allowing
Sergey Zlobin to secure the driver’s title and SMP Racing the team’s title.
Teams and drivers now have three months to prepare
the 2015 season, the first event of which is scheduled
on 27 and 28 March on the Paul Ricard circuit, for
the Prologue.

in the second to claim
his third consecutive premier JSB1000 class title. This
latest championship win makes him the first rider to
ever win five titles in the pinnacle JSB1000 class.
From the start of the season, the seasoned Japanese
had his sights set on his third consecutive cham-
pionship, but had to fend off competitors Kosuke
Akiyoshi (Honda) and Takumi Takahashi (Honda) to
take the opening round, the Suzuka 2 and 4 Race.
The subsequent rounds weren’t all smooth-sailing for
Nakasuga as he had to ride despite injuries and bad
weather, and did not manage to finish on the top step
of the podium. Nonetheless, entering the second half
of the season in 2nd, just 10 points off the leader, meant
the Japanese still had a good shot at the title.

Clearwater Racing sweeps GT Asia championship
at Macau Grand Prix
The yearly Macau Grand Prix is one of the main highlights on the international calendar. Not only is the
Grand Prix held on a 6.2km street circuit, it is also
unique in the sense that both four- and two-wheel races
are held over the same weekend. There is something
for nearly every type of motorsport enthusiast.
This year, Motul was once again present as a technical partner to numerous teams throughout the weekend. There were Mini Cooper and Japanese tuner car
entries from Hong Kong teams, various Europe- and
Asia-based motorcycle racing outfits, and even Team
The atmosphere was electric as all 31 cars took their
position as they prepared for the rolling start. With a
history of red flags and safety cars, spectators and
teams were all anticipating a drama-filled race. However, this year’s 12 laps were anything but dramatic, all
31 cars that started the race crossing the arrival line.
Although Mok Weng Sun’s Ferrari didn’t finish in first,
he however amassed enough points to the take the
driver championship ahead of first-place race winner
Anthony Liu.
West-Tec F3 and their pair of Formula 3 machines from
the UK.
The Grand Prix marks the final round of the GT Asia
series. Clearwater Racing, a long-time technical par-
tner of Motul, had already wrapped up the overall team
championship by leading its nearest competitor by
more than 100 points. Meanwhile, however, four drivers
still had a mathematical chance of winning the driver
championship.

Barni Racing bags the Superstock 1000
and Superbike titles!
Barni Racing Team, supported technically by Motul, has
finished the season beautifully with two superb titles,
thanks to the riders of the Ducati 1199 Panigale R: the
FIM Superstock 1000 rider’s title and the Italian Superbike Championship title.
The former was won by Leandro ‘Tati’ Mercado, fol-
lowing a fiercely contended season. After a win in Aragon and Jerez, and a podium in Imola and Misano, he
entered the last event, in Magny-Cours, with a five points
lead over Savadori. A fall in the qualifyings prevented
him from doing better than eleventh time, but the Argen-
tinian rider battled forward spectacularly on the track
that became damp during the race, to cross the arrival
line fourth-placed, thus clinching the highly coveted title!
For Team Barni Racing, it’s a well-deserved reward after
finishing the two previous seasons in second place. ‘We
are naturally most pleased with this title,’ commented
team manager Marco Barnabò. ‘Today has been a dif-

I would like to thank the entire track and office team.’
In the Italian Superbike Championship, the title was
contended for between Ivan Goi (Barni Racing Team)
and Matteo Baiocco. The latter won the first race of the
season in Mugello, but Goi made up for it by winning the
following three. Then, with a podium in Vallelunga and
Misano, he had a total of 14 points in the lead on arriving
in Mugello for the last round. Winner of race one and
third in the second, he brilliantly bagged the title.

Hungaroring Driving Academy
Training in the classroom and training
on the racetrack

Hornoff, technical manager of Motul Deutschland, in the
Tiszk Kft. The participants of the Academy can therefore
garian F1 racetrack instead of a boring hotel or confe-
been cooperating with the Hungarian Motul importer,
test and use the premium quality products from MOTUL,
such as MC CARE line ones.
Due to this mutually fruitful partnership, it was almost
evident to organise the technical training by Alexander
classrooms of the Driving Academy located at the Hunrence centre.
‘It is very important according to our company policy,
that our sales partners should be educated about the
unique technology represented by MOTUL, the latest re-
sults of automotive lubrication science, new MOTUL products and future trends expected in the industry. That’s
why we invited them to Hungaroring for a technical training’ – stated Gábor Hirtling, sales manager of Tiszk Kft.
‘If we organised this classroom training opportunity, it
was also to offer track training on the Driving Academy’s
track. They drive a lot, sometimes completing hundreds
of kilometres a day. Some training can be very useful for
all of them just before the winter season’.
