The Homebound Meal Delivery Program serves any
Rockland County resident who is shut-in due to
illness, physical disability or advanced age. More
than eight million meals have been served since
1974.
The Bobbi Lewis Social Model Adult Day Center
serves individuals who are diagnosed with
Alzheimer’s disease or a related cognitive
disorder through a structured, supportive, and
therapeutic daily program supervised by a
caring, professional staff.
The Senior Center Programs offer a “home away
from home” for hundreds of participants who
enjoy the camaraderie of their peers, wellness
programs, and stimulating activities.
Funding Information
Meals on Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland
contracts with the county’s Office for the Aging to
receive federal funding . In addition the agency
receives funding from other state and local
government sources, fees for services, grants and
private contributions. All of these sources, including
generous funding from The Nourishing Network, allow
the agency to not only sustain its core programs
and services but also to continually augment and
enhance them.
It is a group of Meals on Wheels benefactors
who pledge a monthly donation to help
provide for those served by the agency.
How does this monthly contribution program
work?
You decide on an amount that you are
comfortable donating each month. Then by
using the form in this brochure you authorize
your bank to transfer that amount from your
checking account directly to Meals on
Wheels. This process is called Electronic Funds
Transfer (EFT). Although the agency
encourages using EFT, as there are no fees for
the agency, you may also decide to make a
monthly contribution via your credit card. The
form also allows for that option.
Is this a safe way to make donations?
Both the automatic monthly EFT and the
credit card donation are considered safer
than mailing a check. Also, please be assured
that Meals on Wheels takes great care in
ensuring the security of your information.
What record will I have of my monthly
donation?
Your monthly checking account or credit
card statement will show the date and
amount of your donation. In addition, Meals
on Wheels will send you a year end letter
stating your total contribution.
What if I change my mind?
If you change your mind, please contact us.
You are free to stop the automatic monthly
donations or change the amount of your gift
at any time. Please notify us as soon as
possible if you would like to make a change
or if you move, change banks or your credit
card number changes. We will happily
accommodate your needs, but please note
that we need approximately five business
days to make any changes.
How does my gift get distributed?
Monies raised through The Nourishing Network
will help meet the needs of the people served
by our three main programs: (1) Homebound
Meal Delivery (2) The Bobbi Lewis Social
Model Adult Day Center (3) Senior Center
Programs.
