1. Explain what roles behavior plays for animals. There are 2 main roles.
2. Contrast instinctive behaviors with learned behaviors. How are they different?
3. How is trial-and-error learning different from insight learning?
4. Right after hatching, before seeing anything else, a duckling sees a child riding a tricycle. What will
probably happen the next time the child rides the tricycle in front of the duckling? Explain. And
identify the type of behavior that this shows.
