FreshPak is a bi-axially oriented polypropylene film coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive (psa). The
function of FreshPak is to act as an Easy Open and Reclosable system for flexible packages. The FreshPak
tape is 1.125” (28.6 mm) wide, with 0.6875” (17.5mm) adhesive coating and a 0.4375” (11mm) non-adhesive
film edge.
The FreshPak applicator is mounted in the film unwind area of the wrapper and continuously applies the
FreshPak tape over a slit in the packaging film. The film, with the tape applied, moves into the wrapper where
product is wrapped and the package is sealed and cut to length. The finished FreshPak package feature opens
and recloses from end seal to end seal.
The consumer opens the package by holding the side edge of the package and the non-adhesive film edge of
the FreshPak tape and pulls the two apart. To reseal the package, the consumer simply presses the tape
against the package and reseals the package.

ambient and refrigerated foods, bakery products, salad, institutional products, OTC and personal care.
Processing Suggestions
To achieve optimum performance from the FreshPak System:
• FreshPak material should be stored upright in the shipping box until mounted on the FreshPak
Applicator unwind mandrel.
• FreshPak material should be stored in a low humidity area at a temperature not to exceed 70°F (21°C);
do not expose the roll or package to water or moisture.
• Do not cut deeply into the shipping carton; this may damage the FreshPak material.
• Handle the FreshPak material by the core only. Do not handle the roll by the tape edges.
• Slitter blade on the FreshPak Applicator should be changed as required. Inspect the slit created in the
packaging film regularly for clean cut edges.

Adhesive Properties
The psa is moisture resistant and has a high initial tack in a range of application temperatures. This adhesive has
excellent resealing properties.
Other Properties
Composed of a proprietary formulation of pressure sensitive adhesive (psa) for specific film substrates, FreshPak can be
used on packages to be distributed, stored and used in varying temperatures from -40°F (4°C) to 110°F (43°C). FreshPak
shelf life of approximately one year can be attained if optimally stored at temperatures not to exceed 80°F (27°C).
