Funeral services were held February 24, 2011 at St. Lawrence Martyr Church in Redondo Beach, California. Stallion 51 Launches YouTube Channel Stallion 51 recently launched a YouTube channel where you can post, view and comment on videos related to Stallion 51. Some videos are ours and others are from friends and fans that have flown at Stallion 51 or have captured one of Lee’s air show performances. Check it out: www.youtube.com/stallion51corp.com Capt. Goebel joined the U.S. Army Air Force just a few months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, and quickly trained to earn his pilot’s wings and 2nd Lieutenant’s commission by June 1943. In March of 1944 Capt. Goebel moved to Italy with and the 31st Fighter Group and began flying Mustangs. In his 61 WWII combat missions Goebel shot down a total of 11 German aircraft. He returned home at the age of 21 and attended the University of Wisconsin. From 1950 to 1966 Goebel re-entered the Air Force, during which time he worked on the Gemini launch vehicle for NASA. Capt. Goebel is the father of nine children, and The Gathering Foundation extends its sympathy and condolences to Goebel family. Welcome New Stallion 51 Team Members Pilot: John Black John Black grew up in the “Birth Place of Aviation,” Dayton, Ohio, and achieved a Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Engineering Technology at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. He spent 21 years on active duty for the United States Air Force and Florida Air National Guard. John now flies the TF-51 and L-39 for Stallion 51. We’re thrilled to have John as a part of our team and you will enjoy flying with him! New Marketing and Promotions Coordinator: KT Budde-Jones KT will be working closely with our staff to develop marketing and promotional tools to further expand the diverse aviation businesses at Stallion 51. KT has been involved in aviation since 1997 and most recently was Director of Education at the Pacific Aviation Museum-Pearl Harbor in Hawaii from 2005 – 2009. Welcome KT! Stallion 51 “Class of 51” – Celebrating 25 Years in 2012 Stallion 51 will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary in 2012 and we’d like you to be a part of it!
