Program Options
Engineering Physics students are required to take at least 27 hours from one of the following areas of engineering.

Acceptance Criteria
In order to be accepted into the Engineering Physics program, students must have a cumulative point-hour ratio (CPHR)
of at least a 2.0 after successfully completing Math 1151, 1172, 2173; Engineering 1181, 1182; and Physics 1250, 1251
(or honors equivalent), and passing Physics 2300 with a C+ higher.

Technical and Other electives
The “Eng/Phy Electives” can be any additional math, physics, or engineering course that is 2000 level or above and not
already required by the program or counting toward any other elective. 9 credit hours are required in the category.
Possible Physics Electives include Physics 3201H, 3470, 5600, 5300, 5501H, 5401H, or any of the 68xx courses.

B. Substitution B: Completion of a foreign language minor
can be substituted for two Gen Ed courses: one course
as a Social Science, (Individuals & Groups or
Organizations & Polities subgroups only) and one
course as either a Literature or a Cultures & Ideas.

Completion of a Social Science 3597 or 4597 can be substituted
for a Social Science general education course in any group.
Completion of an Arts & Humanities 3597 or 4597 can be
substituted for a Visual/Performing Arts general education
