The JEESILC® line is comprised of standard and specialty silicones. These silicones are available in the
form of fluids, emulsions, compounds and lubricants, depending on the user’s desired application.
This unique dispersion in Isododecane, provides a fast drying, light-silky smooth feel to Skin Care
products. Additionally, JEESILC® IDD will aid in suspension properties by reducing the settling of
pigments in formulations. A unique water white, clear polymer dispersion, JEESILC® IDD enhances the
conditioning attributes of Hair Care formulations without leaving a greasy heavy build up. This product
can provide hydrophobic conditioning to anhydrous styling products that are designed to deliver a lighter
film to the hair shaft. For Sun Care formulations, JEESILC® IDD will deliver fast drying, lighter feeling
benefits without the alcohol. It is especially ideal for matte finished Color Cosmetics that require a lighter
feel while providing the long lasting wear of color.

Procedure:
1.
Heat water to 65°C. Pre-mix Keltrol and Glycerin and add to the water phase.
Mix until dissolved. Add the other ingredients to Phase A one at a time and
mix well. Cool to 50°C.
2.
In the oil phase tank, add the JEESILC IDD, JEESILC CPS-211 and JEESILC
PDS-100 and mix until uniform. Add in the Simugel and mix to 50°C.
3.
Using a homogenizer, add Phase B to Phase A and mix for 10 minutes. Cool
to 40°C. Switch to prop agitation.
4.
Add the ingredients of Phase C one at a time into the main tank and mix well
after each addition.
Pre-mix Phase D in a side vessel and add to the main tank. Mix well.

Procedure:
1.
Using a homogenizer in the main tank, combine the
Permethyl 99A and JEESILC 3D5 LV and mix at moderate
agitation until smooth. Add the JEESILC DMC 322, Abil
WE-09 and Bentone Gel VS-5 and mix for 15 minutes.
2.
In a side tank, pre-blend the Nylon 12, TiO2 and Iron Oxides.
Add to the main tank, and mix for 30 minutes. Switch to
prop agitation.
3.
In a side tank, pre-blend the water, JEECHEM BUGL,
JEECIDE G-II and Sodium Chloride. Slowly add the water
phase to the oil phase. Mix for 20 – 25 minutes.

A silicone emulsion that allows for ease of incorporating silicone function into oil-in-water emulsions.
This nonionic emulsion contains on average 55 percent of a high molecular weight dimethicone
having a particle size range of 0.1 to 0.2 micros, allowing for improved feel, moisturization and film
properties. JEESILC®6056 offers you the ability to easily incorporate a soft silky feel to your
current oil-in water formulations. Our nonionic emulsion can be added directly into the water phase
of the formula at room temperature using a low degree of mixing. In addition to enhance the feel,
JEESILC® 6056 will also offer good water resistance properties for Liquid Foundations and
Sunscreen systems. The small particle size distribution will allow for high concentrations without
impacting the formulations final viscosity.

Phase A: Combine first 3 ingredients of Phase A; mix well. Add
JEESCREEN Benzophenone 3; mix at room temperature for 10
minutes. Heat to 80°C while mixing. Add Parsol 1789; mix for 4
more minutes while keeping temperature at 80°C. Add Tego
Care 450; mix 2 – 3 minutes. Add Syncrowax ERL-C; mix for 2 –

into water based formulations. This nonionic dispersion contains on average 80
percent of a volatile hydrocarbon, 4 percent silicone polymer, non-ionic surfactant and
water. The Isododecane dispersion is designed to offer a user friendly, cold process
feel modifier, that possesses a volatile profile. In addition to offering superior feel, the
hydrophobic nature of the Dimethicone Crosspolymer-3 will enhance the overall film

JEENATE® 3H is a polyethylene wax that contains a unique hydrocarbon distribution
that is predominantly linear with a very low concentration of branched Polyethylene.
The JEENATE® 3H Polyethylene is predominantly C-30 or greater with low levers of
C-26 hydrocarbon function. This unique carbon distribution allows the formulators to
increase the overall crystalline structure of oils with a melting point of less than 70 °C.
JEENATE® 3H is ideal for improving the overall hardness, and crystalline structure of
most traditional cosmetic oils, namely volatile silicones in stick formulations. In
addition, because of the linear nature of the polyethylene, JEENATE® 3H is very
effective at increasing the viscosity of oils to aid in emulsion stabilization.

Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC)
Objective:
Determine activity of JEECIDE CAP-2 to Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) broth tests.
Procedure:
A standard microtiter plate MIC test was conducted in Tryptic Soy Broth (bacteria) Sabouraud Dextrose
Broth (yeast and molds).
Results:
As shown in Table 1, JEECIDE CAP-2 is very effective at low concentrations against gram negative and
positive bacteria and effective against yeasts and molds.

Microbiological Challenge Studies:
A study was conducted using 2 formulations: an oil-in-water emulsion and a water-in-oil
emulsion using 0.5% and 1.0% JEECIDE CAP-5. The protocol used was a modification of the
CTFA Challenge Test using a 3 week re-challenge time period instead of a 4 week period. All
samples were inoculated at the start of the study and sampled at 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days,
14 days and 21 days. After 21 days, all samples were re-inoculated and subjected to a second
challenge.

Oil-in-Water
The JEECIDE CAP-5 at 1.0% killed all the challenge organisms within 24 hours after each challenge.
At 0.5%, activity was slower versus yeast and mold than against bacteria after the first challenge, but
molds were reduced to less than 10 per gram within 48 hours (results not shown). After the second
challenge, 0.5% was effective against all organisms within 24 hours.
Water-in-Oil
The JEECIDE CAP-5 was effective against bacteria within 24 hours after each challenge. At 1.0%,
the JEECIDE CAP-5 was faster against yeast and mold than at 0.5% after the first challenge but no
organisms were detected 24 hours after the second challenge in the presence of 0.5% or 1.0%
JEECIDE CAP-5.
