Spring Semester
2016
The University of Georgia
College of Pharmacy
Office of Student Affairs
College of Pharmacy Test Policy
1. Students should have nothing at their desks during an exam except pencils/pens and
calculators (instructors must specify which of these items is/are allowable). Book bags,
books, etc. must be kept in lockers or placed in the front of the exam room.
2. Caps (e.g., baseball caps) are not allowed during exams.
3. Students may not ask questions during an exam. Problem questions will be addressed by
the instructor at a later time.
4. Students may be seated for the exam using a randomized seating arrangement.
Instructors, in order to minimize the opportunity for cheating, may ask students to move to
a different seat during the exam.
5. Multiple choice test questions and/or answers will be randomized.
6. Students are expected to abide by the Honor Code at all times. No student may give or
receive help from another student during an examination. Students who witness others
either giving or receiving aid during an examination are obliged to report such occurrences
to the instructor.
General Guidelines for Skills Labs I, II, III, IV, and V
PHRM 3100, 3110, 4120, 4130, 5140
Skills Laboratory was designed to meet several curricular, professional, and educational
objectives. Each skills laboratory consists of several modules, each with a different focus. All
modules are combined to yield one grade each semester. The different modules may require
differing layers of student involvement and work-load, but the skills labs have several
commonalities and general requirements.
1. Skills labs provide a unique opportunity for students-faculty interaction. Faculty members
may observe students on a more individual basis, and assess their level of understanding
by discussing one-to-one many of the concepts covered in that module. Similarly, labs
may be useful to the student by providing a time and place for the student to get to know
the faculty better. Students should take advantage of this opportunity to actively engage
faculty in conversation on the topic at hand, and ask questions on unclear information.
2. Just as students are expected to be responsible in the work place, students are held to
high standards in the laboratory setting. Students may be asked to wear lab coats to
sessions, or may otherwise be expected to adhere to professional standards of dress.
Students are also expected to participate in the section to which they have been assigned.
Individual labs (e.g., pharmacy care, anatomy, pharmaceutics) will have their own rules
and penalties regarding absences, tardiness, or attending lab on a different day than what
the student is assigned. Students must be at the designated lab on time and prepared for
what is expected of them during that session. Individual infractions will be managed by the
instructor of the module in which the incident occurred.
3. All laboratory modules must be completed. Any student who does not complete any lab or
module will receive an “I” for the entire skills lab, and it will be left to the discretion of the
instructor of that module to provide a manner in which the incomplete may be removed.
4. Students must pass each module of the skills lab to pass the entire lab. If there are
modules within a skills lab, the student must receive a grade of at least 60 on each section
to pass the lab. A student will receive an overall grade of “I” for any section that is not
completed successfully. The lab section or portions thereof must be made up at the
discretion of the instructor before the student can progress to the next semester’s skills
lab.
