After School Program: General Information
Girls Incorporated of Taunton serves girls ages 5-18 from the greater Taunton
area.
Hours of Operation:
Days: Monday – Friday
Hours: 2:00 – 6:00pm
Pick-Up Time: 5:45-6:00pm
Snow Days/ School closings: Closed.
We follow the Taunton Public School Calendar and are not open on days when
the schools are closed.
Vacations: Fees for vacations are separate and are dependant on enrollment.
Early Release Days: Open.
Girls Inc will be open on all early release days. However, lunch will not be served.
Parents MUST pack a lunch for their daughter.
Fees: (All fees are non-refundable)
Yearly Registration Fee: $400
Enrichment Fees: $5/class, vary per week
Enrichment Programs:
We are offering a variety of enrichment courses that require a $5/class fee. The
total fee is based upon the number of weeks the program is offered and is due at
the start of the first class. These programs will change throughout the year.
Space is limited and participation is based on a first come first serve basis.
Snacks: Snacks are available for purchase daily as the cost of $0.25. We offer an
account system which allows for parents to pay for snacks upfront. The girls are
then allowed to purchase snacks daily from their account.
Schedule:
Fall Program: September 14th- November 16th
Winter Program: December 7th- March 14th
Spring Program: April 4th- June 6th
Busing and Transportation:
Bloom Bus Company will provide transportation for our members from Taunton
Schools. Girls will be picked up at school and brought to our building. In order
for members to ride the bus, parents must return a completed Bus
Transportation Form to the classroom teacher. Please note that a minimum of
24 hours notice is required for busing to be scheduled. Parents are responsible
for picking up their daughter at 6:00pm.
The following are the rules of Girls Inc. of Taunton. Please take a moment to
review them with your daughter.
Rules
1. Always be respectful of others – including use of appropriate language (no swearing).
2. Always keep your hands to yourself!
3. Members must always be supervised by a staff member.
4. Electronics are to be used during approved times only!
5. No other personal items from home.
7. Shoes must be worn at all times.
8. Clean up! Everyone must help with the clean up after each activity.
9. No gum chewing.
10. Girls must use the upstairs bathroom.
11. No Bullying.
Policies and Procedures:
Discipline: The Girls Inc. environment is designed to empower girls through the
development of self esteem, friendship and awareness. Disrespectful behavior to
peers and staff will not be tolerated.
In the case of a disciplinary violation including disrespectful behavior, violation
of rules or activities that present safety concerns, a member will be given one
verbal warning. Additional violations will be in the form of a written warning.
Parents will be notified of verbal and written warnings issued to their daughter.
Upon a third warning membership privilege will be reviewed by the executive
director and is subject to suspension and or termination.
Bullying: Girls Inc. of Taunton is committed to a safe and inspiring
environment for all members, volunteers and employees that is free from
harassment, intimidation and bullying. Any acts that physically harm or
psychology distress a member or threaten the overall environment will not be
tolerated. These acts will be subject to appropriate discipline decided by the
leadership and board of trustees.
Girls Inc. 5 Point Apology – when an apology is necessary, girls will use
the following four point apology:

For example our members would apologize for interrupting a class by saying “I’m sorry for interrupting the class. This is wrong because I’m not
participating and the whole class is waiting and I’m wasting their
time. In the future, I will be respectful and pay attention. Will you
forgive me?”
Sick Policy: If your child is sent home sick from school they cannot be dropped
off at Girls Inc. If your child stays home sick from school, please call and let us
know that she will not be attending our program. If your child complains of
feeling sick her temperature will be taken. If she is running a fever (over 99°),
you will be called and she will need to be picked up right away. We ask that girls
do not return to Girls Inc. until they have been fever free, without the use of
medication or a fever reducer, for a period of 24 hours.
Head Lice: If your child is sent home from school with head lice, you MUST
inform us at Girls Inc. Your child will not be able to return to Girls Inc. until they
have been cleared by a doctor or school nurse to return to school.
Member’s Pledge
“As a member of Girls Incorporated of Taunton, I will be considerate of the rights
of fellow members and practice fair play, honesty, and good sportsmanship in all
activities.
I understand that my right to membership depends upon respect for Girls Inc.
and its equipment, rules, members, staff and volunteers. If I do not follow the
rules of Girls Inc., I understand that I may receive an Incident Report sent home
to my family that tells about the incident. If I receive three incident reports in
one school year I understand that I will be suspended from the program for an
amount of time to be determined by the Executive Director.”
