Homework Help Initiative This year the Bluewater District School Board is one of fifteen boards participating in a new program entitled the “Homework Help Initiative.” This initiative provides students with two websites to help them with their homework. FREE ONLINE RESOURCES The first website is the Ontario Educational Resource Bank (OERB) which is a product of e-Learning Ontario. It offers a growing number of free online resources from Kindergarten to Grade 12. There are currently over 20 000 teacher-shared items including lesson plans, activities, maps, and games, which are: • • • aligned with the Ontario curriculum. searchable by grade, subject, strand, and keyword. easy to access and use. To utilize the OERB: • • Contact the e-learning contact teacher to access the login information log onto resources.elearningontario.ca FREE MATH TUTORING FOR GRADES 7 - 10 The second site is Homework Help, which offers online math tutoring for grades 710. It is free, anonymous, and safe. Students log onto homeworkhelp.ilc.org between 5:30 pm and 9:30 pm, Sunday-Thursday, to receive free tutoring from certified Ontario math teachers. All of the grade 7-10 Bluewater math classrooms have been visited by the e-learning contact teacher; the students created their own usernames and passwords to log on to the site. Parents can check out Homework Help by registering as guests.
