This chapter explores Gothic art and architecture, which followed Early Medieval and
Romanesque and serves as the latter of the three periods known as the Middle Ages.
Gothic art and architecture, which is synonymous with “height and light”, is the final
period before to the Early Renaissance blossoms in Europe.
