College Applications
If you know where you are going to go next year, I suggest filling out an
application ASAP. The Regent Universities (UNI, ISU, U of I) have earlier
deadlines so don’t put this off. Quite a few applications have a section which I
need to fill out, if this is the case stop in and see me and I will fill out whatever is
needed. If you send an application to a school they will probably want an official
transcript of your grades, NOT UNI, IOWA or IOWA STATE due to the self
reporting that they have started this year. Official transcripts cost $2 each (1st
one & last one’s are free) and you need to fill out a transcript request form,
which you can pick up from Barb Schroeder in the office. If you are not sure
where you are going to go next year, you need to start looking now. If you
have no clue, get in and see me so I can help you get this
process started!
Fill out all applications by Thanksgiving!!!
Senior Excused Absences
Seniors may be excused up to two days to visit schools of their choice. You
select the day, make an appointment with the school and also check with your
teachers for make-up work. Stop in the guidance office for a permission form
which needs to be completed by you and your parents and signed by
Mr. Wolverton and Mr. Imoehl 5 Days in advance of the absence. If you need
the school number, or help setting up the visit, stop in and see me. You are
responsible for your own transportation and the visit is not considered a school
activity. The back of the form needs to be signed by a college representative
and turned in to the office when you come back to school. Never decide to
attend a school without visiting it first. No visits will be approved in
the month of May.
Class Rank- North Fayette is no longer determining class rank. A letter
explaining this will be sent with transcripts to colleges and scholarship
programs. This will have more of an impact on the regent universities
(UNI, U of Iowa & ISU) and their admission process.
School Representative Visits
Throughout the year we have many college representatives visit the school. If
you are interested in a school, please take the time to visit with them when they
are here. This is a good time to find out about entrance requirements and
additional scholarship opportunities. Check the bulletin board outside of the
guidance area for posters which announce visits which may not be listed below.
